Review summary

This was my second cruise. First was on Carnival in 1995 and before I was married. This was my husband's first cruise. We don't have a child anymore so a ship with all the bells and whistles (water slides, bumper cars, etc) was not needed... which adds to the price of your cruise. Because of our location, leaving out of Baltimore and not having to fly is a big plus for us. The cost of flying and not having to pay baggage fees is another plus. We sailed on the Grandeur in March, 2018. 10 days. I didn't think my husband would like cruising. We are in our late 40's. Let me tell you! My husband said on the 3rd day of the cruise "We are booking another cruise on this same ship, before disembark!!" I was elated! Yes. The Grandeur is an older ship. Yes. It is smaller. No it doesn't have all the bells and whistles. Yes. The crowd is a little older. But if you are looking for an inexpensive, relaxing cruise with a chance to visit fabulous ports? The Grandeur is what you need. FABULOUS food in the dining room, buffet and speciality restaurants. Excellent service from the staff. We are happy to be sailing on the Grandeur for our 2nd cruise in 2019! 12 days, 5 ports and we updated to a balcony! Let the relaxation, exploration of new adventures and fun times begin!
