It was a lot of fun. This was our second trip on the Grandeur of the Seas. We enjoyed visiting St. Kitt for the first time. The staff on the ship is excellent & I am looking forward to cruising next year.

Al & Vishaan were our wait staff for dinner in the Great Gatzby. They were very attentive and helpful. They are an excellent addition to your staff. Murat was our Head Waiter and greeted us with a smile every evening. The lobster, prime rib, roasted chicken & desserts were amazing. The steak on the menu, not from Chops, was inedible because of the gristle. The fish & chips was heavily battered & greasy. There were only 7 fries with my meal. It was very disappointing after having the fish in the Windjammer a couple of days earlier. It was fun to see the staff from the Gatzby in the Windjammer. They are a lot of fun. The food in the Windjammer was overall very good. I would encourage you to use cracked eggs on the buffet rather than powdered eggs. Most of the bacon was not cooked but I was able to find some crispy pieces every morning. Our meal in Chops Steakhouse was very good as was our meal in Izumiz.

Our table was #333. Al & Vishaan were our wait staff and were excellent! Their service was above & beyond my expectations. Murat was our Head Waiter and he greeted us every evening with a smile & fun, engaging conversation.

Casino Royale

I would like to give the casino 0 stars but I don’t think it would do my disappointment justice. As I walked through the casino after embarking the ship I was pleased to see the no smoking sign. The next time I walked through there were people smoking and I was shocked. I then learned that only a small section of the casino had been designated no smoking, not the whole casino. The smoke was so bad it permeated the air all the way out to the Centrum and up to the 7th deck where my cabin was. The air system in the casino does not provide the ventilation needed to keep smoke from going everywhere. Please make this casino completely no smoking. You spend a lot of time and resources making everyone aware that hand washing is important and then allow our lungs to be filled with smoke and the carcinogens in it.
Day Spa and Fitness Center

I had a seaweed massage with Beautiful. She was rough even though I asked her for only moderate pressure. I had 3 Ionithermie treatments and a mini facial with Helen. She is by far the best therapist I have experienced in 2 cruises on the Grandeur. She is personable, provided helpful conversation as well as thorough explanation about my treatments. She was professional and did an amazing job. I will never forget her.

I was pleased with the entertainment on this cruise. The caliber was so much better than last year. The singers were much better as were the dancers. I loved watching Cami dance. She was excellent! The orchestra was also very good. The comedian the last night of the cruise was horrible in the adult show. There was nothing funny about his jokes. Bob said we couldn’t be offended or say anything if we didn’t like it. I don’t mind adult humor. He took it WAY past adult to the most vulgar place he could. If he had stuck with the kind of jokes he did in the farewell show it would have been much more enjoyable. All of the other shows were very good.
Palladium Theater

I love the Palladium Theater. We sat in the balcony each show & loved the atmosphere. The bar staff was excellent. I would suggest playing a different song each night rather than the same one every night.
Centrum

The musicians who played in the Centrum were very enjoyable as was the tribute to the veterans. I was disappointed during the dancing with the stripes show when the bar manager was sent away. He & his partner nailed both the ballet and line dancing. I think there was some nepotism with the captain’s family member in the competition.
Children's Programs
I didn’t have children participating. I will say there was a group of teens who were throwing paper from the upper decks down into the Centrum. They should have been supervised.
Service and Staff

Our waiters Al & Vishaan were excellent! (See comments above.) Our cabin steward was Remmy. He was excellent as well. He anticipated our needs and made the most amazing towel art. He was able to lift our bed so our suitcases could be stored under it. He kept our room clean & neat. It was so nice having someone who is so conscientious and caring. He smiled all the time! All of the staff were pleasant, smiling and very helpful.
Ship Quality

I love cruising on this ship & will be sad to see it retire. We had an issue where a valve in our toilet got stuck & overflowed the toilet. The maintenance staff was notified & were very quick to respond so our cabin didn’t flood.
Cabin / Stateroom

I was pleased with the size & cleanliness of the cabin. The bed was uncomfortable so I didn’t sleep well during this cruise.
Ship tip
Ask your cabin to raise the bed if your suitcases don’t fit under it. Also bring magnetic hooks to hang bags & hats.
I like the St. Thomas port. It was a little confusing to find our excursion as the number we were looking for was not displayed. We took the Caribbean Sail to Christmas Island & Honeymoon Cove. The crew were amazing. Captain Mark, Nikki & Carl made the excursion lots of fun. It was an excellent day of snorkeling with sea turtles, cruising around the island, picnic at the beach & then returning to the ship.
St. Lucia is my favorite port. I love the shops & Rum Therapy. They have the BEST fish & chips! We did the Rainforest Adventures Zipline. We did not book it through Royal Caribbean. This zipline should be added to the RC Excursions. It starts low to the ground & short line & worked its way through 16 lines that were so much fun. It also has a higher weight limit & no age limit.
This was my first trip to St. Kitts. The port is nice & I enjoyed designing a pair of earrings at the Time Square Jewelry Store. I received a wonderful discount & will treasure my one of a kind purchase. We took the 4x4 Island Safari & Beach excursion. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area we travelled & we were able to see both the Caribbean Sea & Atlantic Ocean at the same time. There were 2 problems with this excursion. The first was that there was not a planned bathroom stop early enough in the trip. The second was the “beach”. We arrived & had only 45 to spend there. The people at the beach wanted to charge us $30 to use the chairs & umbrella. There was no place to sit on a towel on the beach so we went & sat in the truck & talked with our guide. I cannot remember his name but he was a former police officer who wants to start a watermelon farm.
I was so sad to see the devastation from the hurricanes. We visited St. Maarten last year & really enjoyed the Tiki Hut excursion. This year we went on the Sea Trek St. Maarten excursion. It is operated by the tiki hut people & they told us about getting the area put back after the hurricane. The excursion was a lot of fun. I highly recommend it.
It's fellow passengers like you guys that I love to meet on cruises. Even though everything wasn't perfect, you made the best of it and didn't complain. I love your positive attitude. I've been on her nine times and I'll be going again in August. I'm not looking forward for her retirement.
