Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was small but clean, It was all senior citizen, It has to be 2000 citizen between 70 and 80. The entertainment was Lousy and really there was time you would get bore. I think there should be a way to let customer know that the ship will be catering to senior.I am 65 and I got bore nothing to do. The food was lousy in the dining room but the windjammer was wonderful. I was sorry for the young couple on this 10 day cruise

Nice ship but I miss the freedom class by Dre1116

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Even though this ship was updated in 2012. It was missing things like a sportcoart, Promenade, ice rink. etc.. It was still a nice cruise enjoyed the the big screen by the pool and the quick embarkation and debarkation at the Baltimore terminal. Staff was nice which is typical for Royal Caribbean. Even after the update the ship is still showing its age. Would like to see a southern caribbean and a freedom class ship out of Baltimore.

Great cruise by SanandDon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This cruise was a wonderful experience.  The service was great, and the staff was very friendly and always helpful.  There was plenty to do, and plenty of spaces to do nothing.  The excersions were interesting and well done.  Royal Caribbean does a good job of keeping crowds moving and being able to accomodate everyone.  It was a week of luxury and we enjoyed every minute.

Enjoyed the "New" Grandeur by mcnat

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Grandeur of the Seas is even grander now.  Many new features, such as updated upholstery in the common rooms and rehabilitated stateroom lavatories make a trip on GotS more pleasant than ever.   In our cabin we are never disturbed by outside noise.   Didn't care for, or use, expanded specialty restaurants, but then, we didn't have to.  Staff members higher on the chain of command seemed a bit distant, perhaps because the company will be abandoning the port we used (Baltimore.)   The frontline workers were unfailingly cheerful and without exception went out of their way to help and serve.  We are not demanding travelers, but we did have "issues" (like a scooter breakdown), and GotS folk went above and beyond over and over to make things easier for us.  Immigration at Key West really did not, as promised, save time in Baltimore, as lines were necessary for Customs.  The new entertainment "venue," the Centrum aerodome, was breathtaking and a brilliant idea for giving a special boost to a grand old lady.  That makes her something different.  We'd sail her again tomorrow.

Awesome time, excellent staff, outstanding service. by Colesk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

2nd cruise for me and the wife.  Weather and seas weren't the best which caused some change in excursion plans but we were on vacation and not laying around the house, so a great time was had.  Cruise director Ricky and activities director Chris were funny and an outstanding team and kept things going.  Waiter staff in the great gatsby ( Princeton and Alex ) we're an outstanding team and accommodated any request. Even though some plans changed due to weather, your happiness and fun is what you make of it and this entire staff made it fun and worth the trip.

1st cruise by bootyman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

This was our 1st cruise and it was OK.  We did not have the best weather, but seasickness was not a problem for us because we sail.  Inside cabin was too claustrophobic.(Only cabins available when we booked.)  Not enough activities that we would be interested in.  We are an active couple.  Weather did not permit usage of the rock wall. Water excursions were cancelled due to high wind.  Food was sub par in Giovanni's.  Tomatoe sauce was so sweet, it was inedible.(we just returned from Italy in July)  Dinning room had imaginable plates, but very fat ladened.  Ate most of our meals in the Windjammer.  Better selection and able to control food choices. I would try a cruise again, but one that left from Florida and went to the Carribbean.  Not worth the money we spent especially with drinks, ie: soda and an occaisional cocktail.  We don't drink enough for the package which we felt was very expensive.  There was very little dicretionary spending aside from some scotch and a bracelet.  678.00  total with gratuities, food and extra drinks.  Alot of extra spending on top of the 1149.00 we paid for the cruise.

We very much enjoyed the cruise and stops at the various ports There were several shore excursions for each port. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about each port.  The cruise staff was friendly and helpful, food delicious and waiters excellent.

We had a good time by LovinCruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

ship was OK but showing its age. Crew was friendly and helpful. Food was just OK. . Entertainment was good but could have had more guest entertainers. The length of the shows was great compared to Princess which has cut back. The ports were the best part of the trip with something to so in each one.

it was far from the Grandeur I expected, I was even insulted, humiliated and not compensated by tbetancourt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Food was far less than perfect, bland no taste, although my dinning waiter Jason from Jamica, was excellent!  I bought the Premium Bar Package (PP) - DON'T DO IT!  Getting a drink was nearly impossible, we waited along with many other guest for almost an hour each time to get served.  The only good bar was the casino bar, and Nash was perfect!  All other bars on the cruise need to fire the help!  The club bartenders were horrible.

We had 30 people on this ship for a wedding in Bermuda, we attending the club after the wedding to continue our celebration of the bride and groom's big day.  The service was horrible, getting waited on was difficult, the club had 4 people in it when our group arrived.

I ordered a drink and offered to buy a drink for a friend, the bartender told me I could not use my Premium Package, which I knew, I said charge the extra drink on my ship and sail card.  When I received the black restaurant book to sign for my drinks, inside the black folder was 10 SHIP AND SAIL CARDS BELONGING TO OTHER GUESTS!!!!!!  MY SHIP AND SAIL CARD WAS UNDER THE RECEIPT OF MY DRINK!   I WAS EMBARRASSED BY THIS, WHAT WAS HE ASSUMING, I WOULD USE SOME OTHER GUESTS CARD TO CHARGE DRINKS WITH????    I had bought the premium bar package.  I threw the cards down on the bar and left!

When I went to guest services, they did nothing to rectify the situation, I told them to look at the security tape, it was 1:30 in the am.  They said they would look into it.  I was humiliated in front of family and friends, and not even compensated for the humiliation.

I did opt out of the 16% gratiuty per person in my stateroom, are you kidding me!!

And finally, the ship left baltimore 4 hours late due to a gas spill by the crew that had to be cleaned up.  The Captain assured us we would arrive on time in Bermuda, we did, however he sped up the ship to make the up the time.  Everyone on the ship was seasick due to the speed throughout the night!  It was horrible, we were at sea the whole next day and night SICK!!

Happy sailing on the Grandeur, do NOT waste your money!!!

Wonderful Trip! by Bigwheel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

My wife and I truly enjoyed our cruise to Bermuda on board Royal Caribean's  "Grandeur of the Seas". Leaving from Baltimore, we didn't have the hassle of flying to the port, but drove, parked and boarded the ship. The ship's crew were simply fantastic; making every effort to make our cruise as fun and relaxing as possible. Bermuda was simply beautiful and leaving the ship and re-boarding was painless.  We plan to do it again!!!

Had a ball by Palean

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I had a great time on the Gradeur of the Seas.  The crew was great, especially Andrew (our line dance instructor) and Desmond (King of Kareoke (I know I spelled it wrong)).  Andrew would stop in the deck and give my sister and I extra dance lessons.  Desmond was hilarious and down to earth.  We would be disappointed when he wasn't doing Kareoke (sp).  Our waiter and assistant waiter were great too.  By the end of the trip they felt like family.

My only suggestion is that there should be more of a variety of classes.

Great Cruise our of Baltimore by cruiser76

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Have been on 20+ cruises, but have never cruised on such a small ship, however, there was absolutely nothing missing from the larger ships.

Service was great in the stateroom and the dining room.  This was the first time we tried "My Time Dining", and we will use it in the future.

Great ship. Good food and drinks. The entertainment was the BEST and Nelson Matthews the activity director was the best person for this job. He had great energy 24/7 and always had a few minutes to talk to you.

Great Cruise by trooper

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I have to say this was a "GREAT" cruise.  This is not one of Royal Caribben Biggest ot Newest ships, but the customer service was unbeliveable, the best I have ever witnessed.  The cabins were super clean and tidy every day.  The wait staff was attentive, kind and personable.  Entertainment was fun, loud, classy and a little different.  The food is OK, this is cruise food people.  Get over it

So to all those negative people-This is not my first cruise.  I do plan to repeat this curise due to the location of port of baltimore.

Cruise to Bermuda by cruisealittle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

We did enjoy the cruise very much. Food was great and all service staff were friendly and helpful. Not enough time in Bermuda to really see the place like we would have liked. We found the pool deck very loud every day and finally discovered the Solarium in the rear of the ship where it was much more quiet and restful. Found only by accident. Older folks would enjoy this cruise just as we did. We just had to escape the noise to relax. The shows were wonderful and we really enjoyed them all. Overall a good time was had by all.
