My family and I (13 of us)  had a wonderful time on this cruise. The Baltimore Port is easy, the service on board the ship was outstanding, the ship was beautiful and well-maintained, the shows were consistently good, the dining was great, and there were lots of fun activities. Excellent!

Can't Wait to Go Again but WILL NOT Book thru <img class='agent-replacement' src='/images/hideagent.png'> by opengatesfarm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Our cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas exceeded our expectations.  The ship is well-appointed, well-maintained, and very clean.  The staff are exceptional, always pleasant and helpful. While we were not very impressed with Nassau {not realizing it was a very congested city}, we were thrilled with Cococay!  Cococay is quiet, very natural, and restful.  There are some activities on Cococay, but we personally enjoyed the quiet surroundings.  The Jamaican band and buffet lunch brought to the island by the ship was a nice treat, although unexpected.  {We do wish we had known ahead of time complimentary food would be provided.} The only complaints we had were issues with Crusies.com.  We will never again book a cruise through .  We will instead book directly with the cruise line.  The day we boarded the ship was spent on the cell phone trying to resolve the issues created by our booking agent.  Sadly, our very first cruise began with aggravation & very high stress!  Thankfully, the crew on the ship assisted us with resolving this issues that were resolvable but was not very helpful.  Each time we called, we got a different representative who told us a different story.   The biggest issue was the BEVERAGE PACKAGE we had purchased through when we booked the cruise.  The rep at had told us that if we did not purchase a Beverage Package, we would not be entitled to anything to drink other than water.  For whatever reason, the booking agent arbitrarily eliminated the Beverage Package from our booking before charging it to our credit card and we didn't know that until we were on board and underway!  However, as it turned out, several beverages ARE included in the price of the cruise even without purchasing a Beverage Package {coffee, hot & iced tea, hot chocolate, milk, orange juice, lemonade, and flavored lemonades are included in the base price, but no sodas or alcohol}.  What we thought we had already paid $80 for would have cost us $107 on the ship since it wasn't purchased in advance.  We did NOT purchase a Beverage Package on the ship, but instead relied on the free beverages. The other issue was that the rep had PROMISED us a special COMPLIMENTARY CAKE to be presented to us at dinner one night during the cruise in recognition of our 30th wedding anniversary.  He apparently never included those instructions to Royal Caribbean.  The ship would normally have charged us $16 for the cake, but due to the fact that it was our first cruise, our 30th anniversary, and not Royal Caribbean's fault, the ship's staff made good on the broken promise and provided the cake for us free-of-charge.

The third issue dropped the ball on was a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE that was supposed to be included in our package and could be used like cash to spend on the ship.  That never made it onto our cruise package either because the ship had no record of it.   later claimed it would be an after-the-cruise rebate...which we have yet to see. The cruise itself was fabulous but, again, we will NEVER book a cruise through .

Amazing by lmichelle609

Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I love Royal Caribbean. I have been on other lines and don't find it to have the same quality or customer service. We had excellent customer service throughout the cruise. The food was excellent and again the service was great.  Waiters knew us by name and knew what we liked after a day or two.

I have no complaints about this cruise. We did not get the drink packages, as we are not big soda or alcohol drinkers, and we found the extra drinks we paid for to be less overall than the drink package would have cost.

Activities for all ages were held on board. Spa services were great.

We sailed out of Baltimore--it was easy to drive there from Pittsburgh and was easy to find and super easy to park there. The ship couldn';t have been any nicer and cleaner. The staff was superior. The food was great--also liked how you could "upgrade" to the filet for only $10 in the main dining room. Our servers were the best.

Our trip was wonderful. We had the royal family suite and we were treated like royalty. The staff was wonderful. Francis in the concierge club was amazing, James the stateroom attendant was very professional and fun, and Jose and Sion our servers in the great gatsby  were funny and amazing, Savio from the great gatsby was always making sure our reservations would work with all of our plans. Overall our cruise was outstanding and we cannot wait to do it again. The staff on the whole boat always had a smile and was willing to help anyone.

Royal Caribbean cruise line is a good line for all ages.  The Bermuda cruise is

a nice destination as the Island is very clean and well manicured and the

people are very friendly.  This ship is an older ship but well maintained.  My

only disappointment was the music around the ship with the exception of the

Rosario Strings which was very good.  The food and service was excellent.

Excellent Staff, Mediocre Cruise Overall by aherrperrin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

My husband and I and our 16 month old daughter just returned from our 7 night cruise from Baltimore to Bermuda. This was our first time on Royal Caribbean.  Overall, the cruise was just ok (way better than no cruise at all, though!) although the staff and service were absolutely outstanding.

Staterooms:  We had an oceanview on Deck 3.  The room was small, which we expected, but there was plenty of closet space and cabinets.  You could probably fit two medium to large suitcases in the closet standing upright, and some smaller suitcases under the bed.  There were hangers and a hair dryer, but no refrigerator so we used an ice bucket to store our daughter's milk.  The shower pressure and temperature were actually very good, but the shower is quite small.  And, the shower curtain will stick to you if you don't prop up a shampoo bottle or something else to hold it in place.  Our stateroom attendant was fantastic:  always pleasant, made time to talk to us, prompt and professional, and just an all around nice guy.  The housekeeping staff were very nice as well and worked hard to make people happy.

Guests/Activities: This was not a very family friendly trip.  A schedule was provided for the upcoming day, and there were plenty of activities around the ship.  However, many of the activities had an extra cost and there were limited activities for children.  Most of the guests appeared to be older adults, some of whom were not very patient with our daughter. On the first night, we received a phone call from Guest Services informing us of "neighbors' complaining" about a baby crying "all afternoon".  Again, the staff were very accommodating and patient with us and seemed to enjoy the little ones on board.

Dining:  A big disappointment.  The quality of the food was just not good.  Understandably, cooking for a large groups of people with varied dietary issues and preferences has got to be challenging. I was just hoping for food with more flavor instead of feeling like it was all processed and reheated from a box. The coffee was undrinkable and the scrambled eggs were inedible. After the first few days, I learned to go to Starbucks for coffee and to stick with the omelet station instead of the scrambled eggs, so that helped. Sadly, the ice cream machine made ice soup instead. I wound up getting ice cream from the Ben and Jerry's though, so that worked itself out. There was only one late night option (I think the Park Cafe closed at 10:00 or 11:00) but there was nothing open 24 hours.  There were also very few snack options besides fresh fruit (a plus) and nachos or sweets, so I would suggest bringing your own snack stash. Our waiters were again very helpful, pleasant, and personable and did their best to attend to us and accommodate our needs.  And, the crew at Starbucks and Windjammer was excellent as well.

Port of Call:  Bermuda was just stunning.  We docked in the afternoon and didn't realize that to really explore Bermuda, you had to get out of the dockyard via ferry, bus, or taxi.  We did not do any excursions as they seemed to be pretty pricey.  There is a ferry right near the cruise ship that goes to Hamilton pretty much once every hour, but the ferry to St. George was much more infrequent so we wound up missing that opportunity. Everything in Bermuda was incredibly expensive and the restaurant we tried in the dockyard was not good (although the check for lunch for two was $77.00).  We ate at a restaurant called Muse in Hamilton that was so delicious which was a welcomed change ($87.00 there for lunch, by the way). The craft market in the Dockyard was a really good place for handmade souvenirs. There is a frozen yogurt place by the ferry that offers 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi with a purchase, which is much better than paying onboard to use the (very expensive) Internet.

Overall, the staff were the best part of the cruise experience and we loved Bermuda.  It was nice to be treated like family and get to know others.  The ship itself could use some tweaking that would make a big difference in the overall experience.

Best experience by desbreeze

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I could not believe how easy it was to book , print off tickets and luggage tags , and depart and arrive. The worst part about traveling is usually tickets, luggage tags and getting on and off the ship but everything was a breeze and very quick. The staff was amazing and super friendly. We had 2 days of rain and it didnt matter we were having so much fun. The food was great as was the service you receive.

Grandeur of the seas cruise 5/15 - 5/22 by shennedison

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

  Being this was our first time on a cruise we really do not have any passed experience to compare with. We will list what we liked;

The crew was outstanding , Our cabin attendant was outstanding, the variety of entertainment was good

. Our Cruise Director and Activities Director kept everyone involved that wanted to take part.

The food served from the buffet , the cafe and the Main Dinning room was great. The meal we had at Chops Grille was excellent. As for beverages if you wanted to go on a trip to get wasted you're gonna pay for it. We saw two people cut off after their card reach a limit for the day. With this I come to my 1 complaint; there needs to be more clairity as to what can and what can not be brought on board. We were told that we could bring 1 bottle each of wine , which we did, What we saw was passengers bring whole cases of water on board....knowing this would have saved us from buying bottled water on board $19 for 8 16oz bottles. At 1 port we asked the passenger service desk if we got off could we bring on any bottled water or soda and we were told no security wouldn't let us. When we left the ship I again asked security the same and was told sure as long as it was un -opened. Thank goodness for CVS in Coco Beach we saved from not spending $2.75 per can or the $6.50 per day plan.

All in all it was a great trip Jennifer from BJ's was really helpful and quite patient with dealing with our never ending questions ....bless that poor girl she really did a great job with booking our trip and we plan on calling on her again to book our next trip.

Oh one more thing , if anyone is ever considering a cruise and you hate to fly....most diffidently sail out of Baltimore , We were dropped off by our neighbor at 11:15 and at 12:15 we were on the top deck with a drink in our hands

Thanks  BJ's

Excellent food and service; friendly staff by xboyc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The main dining room food taste and service were excellent; however late night availability could be better--pizza-etc.  The "my time dining host" (Roshmann) was outstanding; calling every guest by name--from memory !

Outstanding room steward (Joseph) was  very attentive and helpful.

Ship was very clean, well maintained and nicely decorated--especially the Palladium Theatre.

Disappointed by katieantolik34

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I am not pleased with the cruise experience we received on the Grandeur of the Seas. Demographics aside (most travelers were above the age of 60, my fiance and I are in our 20's), the ship was lovely. However, we ran into several complications on board which was something I did not expect on a trip I had booked in order to be streamlined (pre-booking exursions, pre-paying for all, and pre-scheduling meals to limit stress and fully enjoy our time).

I will begin by explaining that my then-boyfriend proposed while on board. The first night when returning to our state room we found a bottle of champagne and two flutes waiting for us. I now know that my fiance had ordered this to be delivered the second night (the night of the proposal), not the first, and it almost resulted in spoiling the surprise.

The second night we booked the chef's table (I now know he did so for the proposal). We never received the card inviting us to our dinner with the time, so a good portion of our afternoon was spent trying to determine how and when we would get to dine. After speaking to several individuals in guest services, we showed up on time and waited roughly 45 minutes before being told our dinner was cancelled, and that we would need to dine elsewhere. My fiance had made arrangements for photos to be taken during the dinner at this specific location, for a special desert to be brought out, and for this to be a special romantic meal. None of this was able to occur as he had planned. A man at guest services was able to help him get everything together in time, however, it was due to their poor planning that there was a wrench in the plan to begin with.

Our cancelled dinner plans were to be "made up" for by rescheduling to an evening later in the cruise (they were already paid for). However, the only available night and time fell during one of our shore excursions. I tried personally to cancel this excursion so I could be refunded, however this required meeting in person with the tickets during the shore excursions' limited hours at least 24 hours before hand. Because we did not meet with them in person in time, we did not receive the refund despite speaking with several people and leaving countless messages with guest services on the issue.

Bermuda was beautiful. The ship was beautiful. There was clearly a lack of communication among the staff, and made this trip a complete headache. Very displeased.

Grandeur to Bermuda by crowell716

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

This was our 13th cruise - 4th time with RCI and 2nd time on Grandeur.  We so enjoyed our first cruise on her last fall, that we immediately booked this 7-night sailing to Bermuda.

The staff on board is exceptional - from the housekeeping staff, to the waiters, entertainers, and bar staff.  We did not encounter a single employee who wasn't outwardly friendly or helpful.  The ship is older and smaller compared to today's standards, but she is in tip top shape.  For both of our cruises onboard Grandeur, the food was the best that we have encountered on any ship.

Bermuda is a beautiful place.  The ship docks at King's Wharf which is a really great port - so much to do and see.  There is a free trolley that you can board right at the base of the ship which will take you throughout the dockyard and stops frequently to allow people on/off.  We booked a full day private Island tour and also a Glass Bottom Boat excursion through RCI.  Both tours were so enjoyable.

We highly recommend any cruise on Grandeur but sailing her to Bermuda is an awesome experience.

Enjoyable Cruise by stahl5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

We had a great time.  The crew was very attentive, the ship was clean, and the experience was wonderful.  We did have some issues with the shower in our cabin, no hot water the first two days and then no water pressure after the hot water issue was fixed.  They did replace the facet on the 5th day which did the trick!  The excursions we took were excellent....the people were friendly and knowledgeable.  We did have an issue at Snorkel Beach....there was broken glass all over the beach which made it dangerous to enter and swim in the water close to shore.  Very disappointing.   The food on the ship was good but most times got to our table lukewarm at best.
