Vision of the Seas

13 Night Southern Caribbean (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail date: January 06, 2024

Ship: Vision of the Seas

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 9 months ago

Review summary

We had an amazing 13 night cruise visiting seven ports. I would definitely do it again. Visions capabilities are limited just because she's an older smaller ship. But don't let that discourage you from experiencing her. I've always lived by one motto when vacationing especially cruising. It's what you make it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Wheelchair assistance was needed for my mother and was available within a few minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room food was well seasoned and tasty. The windjammer buffet needs a little improvement. The choices were limited and very repetitive.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
No bells and whistles in this class of ship. But what was offered was enjoyable

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment was wonderful. There were some offerings that did not fit my taste. But one particular group stood out and I made every effort to be in the audience whenever they performed. Splash Duo are incredible singers with wonderful personalities.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff went above and beyond.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Standard accessible stateroom

Ship tip

Don't forget to pack your seasick patches. You'll definitely need them when leaving out of Baltimore.

Ports of call

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
There's definitely a party vibe at this port. Please note that if you exit the gate you will be asked to show your Sea card as well as ID for reentry into the port area. I suggest snapping a picture of your state ID or passport for that purpose.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Always a great port to explore. I will say if you have no major mobility issues this is a very easy port to walk.

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze. Debarcation leaves a lot to be desired for individuals who need assistance.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
We did the discover Haiti excursion and it was very nice. Unfortunately it was at a time where we could not get back to enjoy the lunch offered on the island

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
Easy port to just roam around have a cocktail or take a tour

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

5 out of 5
Wonderful port to just self-explore

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
Easy port to explore

Fort-De-France, Martinique

5 out of 5
Beautiful port easy to navigate

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Disembarking the ship when needing wheelchair assistance was a mess. There seem to be no order to the process. I give credit to the staff person who was calm and courteous throughout the disembarking process
