Great cruise! Ship was small but that is my preference. Cabin location was perfect.

Review summary

Great cruise, great itinerary. Loved the ship. This ship had more of an older clientele. It is an older, smaller ship not a lot for children.

Embarkation

Baltimore is a great port to sail from. Easy access to parking. Staff is very helpful.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Repetitive menu items. I enjoy fish but out of 13 nights salmon was the fish of the day for 8 nights.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Spent most of our time in the solarium which was great. Park Cafe was located in the solarium which also was very convenient. Not so on other RCCL ship we’ve been on.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage shows were very good. Also, on this cruise the nephew of Don Knotts was on board and on the 5 sea days he gave an hour talk and showed clips from Mayberry R.F.D. and gave us a lot of inside info on his uncle and other cast members. I think more people attended that than the night shows. 😂

Children's Programs

I’m 79 years old and no children with me.

Service and Staff

Everyone was exceptional. Going out of their way to make your stay enjoyable

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship has a great layout. Easy to find any venue. Very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great cabin. Plenty of room. Only issue was no refrigerator especially since Royal allows you to bring wine, soda and juices on board. Was told only refrigerators were on level 7 + 8. Had to keep filling the ice bucket. Out of my 25+ cruises this is the first ship that didn’t have a fridge in the room.

Ship tip

Relax and enjoy. Any issues with food or cabin speak up they are there to please.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

I love this port. It’s an easy 2 1/2 hour drive for us. Parking at the port is very reasonable and well organized. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

No excursion. 2nd time at Labadee. Love this port. Beach is beautiful. Trams to take you around.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

I love San Juan have been there numerous times but due to the late arrival 3:30-11pm we stayed on board

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

Walked to local beach it was just ok. They charged $30 for a chair and a shared umbrella so $60 for a couple. Needless to say a lot of us were sitting on the grass. Never had I heard such a ridiculous price.

Fort-De-France, Martinique

First time there and took a local bus tour. It was good but too long and was unable to walk around the town. Next time.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Beautiful beaches just a short taxi ride away ($5 each way). We went to Carlisle Beach. $35 entrance fee which included 2chairs and an umbrella, a drink from the bar, return taxi to ship. They had a trampoline in the water and a huge water slide, a Tarzan rope swing over the water and you could take a boat ride out to snorkel with the turtles for an hour. We don’t snorkel anymore but too late we thought to just take the boat ride but they had no openings left. Next time..

Castries, St. Lucia

Took a taxi ride to a beach that was recommended by the driver. Won’t be going to that beach again. Water was very rough. Hawkers were in your face constantly. We were told free Wi-Fi but found out only if you buy something from the restaurant. Will not be going back to that beach.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Were going to take a taxi to a local beach but it rained off and on so after shopping we went back to the ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Simple and well organized.
