We vacation in Florida every year, and love all there is to do around Port Canaveral such as the beaches, Kennedy Space Centre, Orlando less than an hour away, etc. A little pre cruise research on your part would have helped you enjoy the area and all it has to offer.
If you want Chinese food on a cruise, many Carnival ships have it available at lunch.
If you can keep an open mind, do some research about the ports and ships before you cruise the next time, you will have a much better time on your vacation.

To BDRebel: I'm not saying use Miami to replace the whole list of ports, I mean use Miami instead of Port Canaveral, Port Canaveral looks like an industry area, nothing to look.
There is much to see during a port call in Port Canaveral. Of course the beaches are popular but so is the Kennedy Space Center, Cocoa Village, Merritt Island Wildlife Center to name a few and just right in the port itself is the Exploration Tower which is a great inexpensive place to cover in just a couple of hours. You will get great photos of the ships in port from its Observation Deck. If you pull into Terminal One you are right next to the Cove area with its many restaurants with waterfront views - great place to relax with a drink or for a quick lunch. We often see dolphins in the channel. This is where the Exploration Tower is located. Jetty Park is close by this part of the terminal and has a nice beach with changing rooms and facilities. We were at the port on Saturday at Terminal 5 & it is not near anything walk-able. Same thing goes for Terminal 6 near terminal 5. Of course there is much more to do in Miami since it is a bigger city.

Want more Chinese food, go on a Chinese based cruise or bring some takeout before you depart.

Wish for Chinese Food , you don't need to book a cruise for that fly to Denver and go to the Asian Wok , great Egg Rolls , Gotta be kidding me ,

Can you give us any more information about your cruise besides your wish for more Chinese food? I suggest a Caribbean cruise. Arrive a day or two early and you can explore Miami to your heart's content.

PC has a lot to do -- good restaurants, the Space Center, beaches, and not horribly crowded.
Miami is just another big city.
Oh, they also have a pretty good Chinese restaurant!

If you ever have a day in Port Canaveral again I'd suggest the Kennedy Space Center. My last cruise left out of Port Canaveral and we went down a couple days early to see the Space Center and Coco Beach.
Excellent point! I can spend an entire day at Kennedy Space Center.

Ship Mate app for your smart phone is a great resource for what is good to do in port. It has an area where past visitors tell what they liked in the area for things to do and places to eat,

I see your point but does it really take that much away from your experience to see a sea port and possibility of watching the loading and unloading freighters? I find watching the Long Shoremen loading the cruise ship fun to watch and listening to the sounds of it because I know not long after the noise dies down, the ship will be casting off.
Someone posted not long ago that they don't like seeing a factory in the port area, Really? Why worry about it?
I'm one that will enjoy looking at what is in the sea port if it's used for cruise ships and freighters because it's all ships to me. Enjoy the cruise regardless of the port or sail out of Miami all the time.

To jusMe: we haven't been Florida before, thought they will choose beautiful places for us.

Please do a more complete review. There is missing information on this one.

If you do not like the ports why do you book a cruse to places you do not like ?
BDRebel 7 years ago
With that list of ports, you would have rather gone to Miami?
Also, I don't think that Chinese food is on any ship's menu in a major way. It seems they are pushing American/French/Italian.

Where is "Miame"? Don't think I ever heard of that port. Poor review...
