Review summary

This was my 4th cruise (all of them with the Royal Caribbean) and probably one of the best vacation we ever had. The port was only 18 miles away from home, it took us about 40 minutes from the parking lot to the ship. The ocean was rough first few days. The Grandeur of the Caribbean is a 20 year-old ship refurbished few years ago. The room service was stellar, food was great, entertainment shows were excellent, customer service was good, doctor's office (yes we needed to go there once) was fantastic. We missed one stop at Labadee, Haiti. They promised to give us 20% credit. We haven't seen the clear statement showing the expenses vs. credit but hope we'll find out soon.

Ahh, gotcha. Glad to hear you had a great time. I definitely understand the convenience of Baltimore, I'm from Ellicott City, now I live about 2.5 hours further west, still an easy drive for a cruise.

I was on back to back cruises, March 20 and March 30. The second one ended yesterday.

So you were on the cruise a couple weeks ago, not the one that just ended yesterday?

We lost one of engines early that morning. That meant we had to run at reduced speed. In order to get back to Baltimore on time for the guests who had travel plans already set up, the Captain contacted Miami and decided to bypass Labadee. I had my 20% refund the next day in my room account. I was on her for the next cruise also and the engine has been repaired.
