Eastern Caribbean Cruis by hls

The Freedom of the Seas was awesome. My first time balcony. Was not impressed with CocoCay (private Island) but thought St. Thomas and St. Maarten were beautiful.

Fabulous Vacation! by rjdorst

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Our vacation experience aboard the Freedom of the Seas was totally awesome. Our cabin was great, the food was great, the ship was gorgeous! I was a little hesitant to take the guaranteed balcony cabin, thinking it may not be as good as the others, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was wonderful. If I had to say one thing I didn't like, it was that you didn't have creme brulee every night on the daily dessert menu. Instead you had BBB (banana creme brulee) That stuff was AWFUL! Why mess up a perfect dessert by putting bananas in it? I will definitely plan another Royal Caribbean cruise in the future.

Birthday Cruise 3/24/13 by edgolfs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall my wife and I had a wonderful time on our cruise. There were a couple of nuisance issues associated with our stateroom that should be controllable. The stateroom has a "thermostat", however, it does nothing to adjust the comfort level in our stateroom. It was very chilly in our room and when we moved the thermostat all the way to the heat side, nothing changed. The other two isssues were associated with minor issues, keeping the number of clean towels available when we requested they be cleaned and monitoring the mini bar in the room. I believe both of those should have been issues monitored by the stateroom attendant, however, we saw him only the evening we arrived on the ship and the evening prior to our departure.

Royal Caribbean Cruise by jrbucsfan02

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Freedom of the Seas is an awesome ship that has plenty of activities throughout the day and night. Stateroom was very clean. All staff on board were very kind, respectful, and courteous. If you are bored and do not have a great time on this boat, it is your own fault! The appearance and cleanliness of this boat was great compared to the Carnival cruise we went on two years ago. The food and dining experience was also exceptionally better. We had an awesome time, and we can not wait until our next cruise with Royal Caribbean. We honestly can not think of anything negative about the boat and our most recent cruise.

Spring break with the kids by tbird

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We do enjoy our cruises on Royal Caribbean. This was the second time we been on the Freedom of the Seas. We had joining rooms to keep an eye on the kids, and it worked out the best for us having the extra room. We always look forward to the dinning experience. It is supposed to be one of the pleasures of cruising. I didn't notice the problem with out waiter until the last night. He waited until he got all of his tables ordered before he went to get the food. While serving some, others food was getting cold, because he put it all on one cart. Lucky nothing fell off. It shouldn't have to be a two hour experience. The kids were good troopers. They did ask every night how was the service.

just okay by cmaas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

It was just okay for us adults but it was very poor for any children between 16 and 17. There were no parties for these kids other than to hand around 12 - 15 year olds. These kids are juniors and seniors in high school, have jobs and drive. They have absolutely nothing in common with 12 - 15 year olds. Not enough pool parties or for that matter any other fun theme parties for them. Norwegian was so much better for that age group. Also, quite a few bartenders were extremely rude to us when we ordered drinks in the champagne bar and the pub. Our waiters at dinner and the maid were absolutely wonderful though. Couldn't have been nicer. We gave them very high remarks on the survey. The kids curfew was 1:00 a.m. and they were just finishing up their pizza and heading back to the room when security escorted them down to their headquarters and then escorted each one personally back to the room. I thought this was a little bit drastic considering it was 1:10. All week long the people reserved lounge chairs by the pool and we had a hard time finding a place to sit. The one day my husband went to the pool at 7 a.m. and put our stuff down and we joined him and sat for 4 hours, we got up and went to grab a bite to eat and bring it back to the pool only to find that the pool people picked up our towels and let someone else have our seats. We couldn't have been gone for more than 15 minutes. They didn't touch any other towels the first 5 days when people didn't even show up until late afternoon. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. We would definitely go back to Norwegian in a heart beat!!!

Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our 7 night western cruise was the best so far. The customer service was top notch, the dining staff..excellent, and our room attendant was the best. So much to do on board that there wasn't enough time in the day. All in all we love this cruise ship:).

Could have been rated 5 stars by Rancon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Had it not of been for the problems with the toilet in our cabin this cruise would have received 5 stars! However, we spent two days fighting the flushing of the toilet (1/2 day of no flushing at all) and experienced a "sewer gas" smell in our cabin most of the cruise. Other than that, most everything was exceptional. The crew was friendly and helpful but the real standouts were the dining room waiter and assistant waiter. Team Dennis and Jean on deck 5, table 161, went above and beyond assuring our evening meals were nothing below a "10"! with their outstanding service.

9 yr bday & 30 yr ann. by Love2curise

What a beautiful ship!! Grand daughters words were WOW Nana this is my favorite ship! We had excellent service with our dining, guest services and stateroom! We have only one complaint. When getting off the ship one of the staff Katie was very rude and unprofessional. We were told by our cabin steward to stand at a stairway. We had been waiting there for about fifteen minutes and she comes up to us and tells us that the end of the line is up on the next floor. We explained to her that we were told to wait there and she told us she did not care and to go to the next floor. We did as she said and when it came time for the line to move everyone from the floors above us cut us off so we ended up one of the last off the ship and was separated from our shore excursion group because we were unable to get off the ship in an orderly fashion. Katie did not follow through with what she had done which created a mess! I plan to cruise with Royal in the future but I hope to never cruise with Katie again.

Good Cruise! by Harryblue7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Everything was fine. Afew suggestions: Better directions. I went to signup for Ice show at 9:30am at the customer relations desk. I was told they were doing it downstairs on the 4th floor. Went down to the ice rink thru a room with an art selling program and waited 20 minutes in line to find out it was for skating lesson only, and the Ice show was outside on this floor. Went out thru the AArt Show looked around and finally found someone that said its on the right side as you go in to the Art show! I went in and they were closing up and was directed to Customer service. When I got to Customer Service, there were 25 people in line ahead of me. The Food Service group should definately find a was to serve warm toast in the morning! I know you have 4000+ customers, but cold toast is really not an acceptable option.

Great service, clean ship and good food. Had a great time. Awful coffee, poor tea and would have liked a glass of milk or hot chocolate before bed. I thought 50mins for room serviceat 9.30pm was too long to wait.

Smooth sailing with Royal Caribbean by BODIDDY

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife and I sailed out of Cape Canaveral, Florida for a one-week visit to Haiti, Jamaica, The Cayman Islands, and Mexico. All went well, and we had fun. My wife especially enjoyed the shopping in Mexico. The food was excellent at each meal aboard the cruise ship. The only negative we found was not with the cruise line, employees of the cruise line, the food, or fun things to do, it was with some of our fellow passengers who brought their colds, flu, coughing and sneezing with them. Our only recommendation would be to post signs urging passengers to do all they can do to not spread cold and flu germs. Thanks for the memories!!!!!! Dr. Sam F. Dayton and his bride (Elizabeth) of 37 years.

Freedom of the Seas by luv2sail

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was beautiful and easy to get around if you avoided the promenade. The shows were excellent. The only drawback for us was the number of passengers...3,800. We liked the itinerary to the Western Caribbean with the 3 sea days. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and courteous.
