Really stellar service by karejone

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my first time on an RCL cruise. The Freedom was really nice, love the Promenade down the center. Actually makes it easier to get from one end to the other. Although this is the largest passenger ship I have been on, it didn't feel crowded or hard to get around. I was travelling w/elder family member in electric scooter, but he got around well too. Food and dining room service was better than any of my last three cruises on competitors. Cristopher and Sheila Mae were so professional and patient, esp w/our 94yo w/scooter. Other staff came by to ask how things were, too. Alot of attn paid at all meals in dining room

Awesome cruise as always by rdthomas1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We thoroughly enjoyed our Eastern Caribbean Cruise aboard Freedom of the Seas. We love Royal Caribbean!! Since we started cruising with Royal Caribbean we have not cruised with any other cruiseline. The ships are the best with features no other cruiseline has...you have to try them out. It's worth every penny spent!!

Great time! by davis0212

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We traveled with three other couples and had a wonderful time.  Only a few minor glitches occurred and we were very pleased overall. Our dining experience was particularly outstanding as we bonded with our Maitre de. servers and wait staff.

We have already booked another cruise on Royal Caribbean for next year!

Freedom of the Seas by alcarter423

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ship was very nice, food in windjammer just ok. Food in dining room was very good. The only disappointment that we had was that most people were mad about something. Not sure what it was but I asked others about this and they saw the same thing that we did. People would stop in front of you without regard that there were other people behind them and most didn't apologize once they noticed.

Nice cruise by Cruiser596

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

ship needs updating in rooms.  Service was great.  Did scuba diving at Grand Cayman and Couzomel!   Couzomel was absolutely fantastic.  Will go for a week long dive there in the future!  The private area at Haiti was also very nice and relaxing.  Just remember they are all on "island" time.

MY FIRST CRUISE by jesi47

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Being my first cruise I was very open minded about what to expect and I was not disappointed. Boarding was a breeze, our Junior Balcony Suite was a fantastic choice but I am sure spoiled me for any future cruises.  Our room attendant was phenonemal and made every day a pleasure. Our wait staff was excellent and more than accomodating.  We had a little rough weather the first day but it did not damper the ability to find things to do on ship. The ship was beautiful, especially the dining rooms and the Promenade.  We took two excursions and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. The shows were to be applauded in every way. Best of all, we met a lot of people and made some friendships that will last into the future.  I look to forward to another cruise in the not too distant future.

Seven Days of Fun! by doll1340

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We really enjoyed our time on this cruise. My only complaint was not enough time in Mexico and better food in the main dining. We had a great time at the shows and the daily activities were fun!

Freedom of the Seas by Cruiser668

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We love Royal Caribbean. The Freedom Class ships are just the right size...large enough for lots of exiting onboard fun (ice skating, rock wall climbing, flow rider surfing, mini golf), yet small enough so you still enjoy the experience of being on a ship in the ocean.

The best cruiseline ever! by Cruiser249

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The RC experience was one of the best cruises I  have taken.  There was something to do for everyone and the food was great.  Getting on and off the ship was well organized and staff was excellent.  I would recommend Royal Caribbean to all, especially families.  The Madagscar crew was my grandkids favorites along with the teen center and all the swimming pools..

A good time was had by all by perl47

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was a great voyage. Perfect weather, beautiful ship, superb service and a great mix of people onboard.  The cruise director was a dynamo and the entertainment was very entertaining.

So now, if there are any readers who are looking for a negative, I do have a few but none of them are dealbreakers, even added altogether. We'd go on this ship again in a heartbeat.

It's a very large ship with 2 elevator banks. Our cabin was mid-ship so we had to walk a good distance to get to the elevator. Several times, we didn't know whether our destination was forward or back and the only way to look at the "map" was to walk to the elevators; naturally, we usually walked to the wrong set of elevators and then had to walk the entire length of the ship. Not a deal breaker but when you're in high heels or a hurry, it was very annoying. I wish they'd put the deck plans in the cabins for our reference.

This was my 16th cruise but the first time I couldn't get myself acclimated to know whether I was facing the front or the back. It's probably just me but next time, I'm taking printed deck plans with me.

My only other "complaint" is the Wind Jammer all being indoors. I'm sure that's a plus for many people but we love to eat our breakfast and lunch outside when we're on a cruise.

The shows were amazing. The food was very good. Our waitstaff was outstanding. The ship is clean as can be. Every staff member we spoke to was pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable.  I was surprised to hear how many of them have been with RCI for 10 years or more so it seems the staff likes RCI business methods as much as their customers do.

Our cabin was Midship, Deck 6, with a balcony. Our room steward was phenomenal and the cabin was immaculate. The bed was comfy and one thing I did notice was how steady the temperature stayed in our cabin. We've been on several ships that go from stifling warm, turn on the blasting cold air and then to freezing. The FOS doesn't have extremes which was very nice.

We're not fans of the shopping Promenade but it was very nice and seemed to have a large selection of a great many things with many super-duper sales and specials.  The coffee station had great coffee but it was always a mob scene to get through the crowd to get to it. I wish they'd put it in a less crowded place.

One thing we don't care for is the constant marketing of the specialty dining and the spa services and so on and so on. But all the cruise lines do it now so it wouldn't be fair to bash RCI for what is now a common practice throughout the industry.

I'm drawing a blank now but the bottom line is, we had a wonderful 7 days on the FOS and will always count it among our favorite cruises.

The Love and Marriage game show on our cruise was the funniest thing we've seen in a very long time. They did a super job of selecting contestants and then the Cruise Director (again, drawing the blank for his name) had the perfect knack for asking the questions in just the right way. It was a terrific time.
