For a first time cruiser I was impressed! I don't think I want to travel any other way. Everyone in the ship was above and beyond exceptional!!!!

Ship tip
For a very first time cruiser I was excited to purchase The Key. Most people on the cruise received royal perks from being a constant cruiser; however for someone like me I was able to get the perks for everything
I decided to do a ship day because I heard that St Kitts was nothing missed by lots of reviews and by the people on our ship who verified the same thing. Nothing overly attractive and they wished they stayed on the ship.
I enjoyed touring all around St Lucia and being able to see a little of everything. We loved the lunch that was served, absolutely delicious; however if you get motion sickness beware. The roads are very curvy, winding, and they seem to drive very fast on the left hand side.
We had a great host on the Beach Hop! He really interacted with the group and brought us to a beautiful beach Carlisle Bay. I would have liked to stay there instead of the other beach he took us too after.
Wow again, The Key made a difference. We had a special breakfast, we were able to leave anytime between 07:00am & 10am, our luggage was separated from all the others because we were key members and we had our very own line to bypass the hundreds of people waiting to go through customs. So well organized

I was fortunate to have a coworker who helped me book my cruise. She has been on 30 cruises. So I knew I was in good hands. My son and I enjoyed every moment of the cruise and now I do not know why I waited so long to book. I can’t imagine vacationing any other way. I am thinking of another cruise but unfortunately it will not be right away. I officially have two kids in college at the same time 😰. But when I am ready I will definitely book again. I am hooked. 😁🚢🎊🎉

That’s awesome June 2020 or bust! 😁🚢
I learned as much as I could through family and friends, different websites, different Facebook pages, YouTube, Apps, and Pintrist. I joined The RCCL Freedom of the Seas Facebook page. Look for your specific date. I was able to meet tons of cruisers that were on the same ship from extremely experienced to first timers like me. I booked my excursions through RCCL since I was a first timer and I am glad I did because there were so many promotions I paid very low prices some cheaper than those offered off the ship. I am sure I was lucky because I had no past cruise experience to compare it to. My son and I really enjoyed the day just exploring the ship when in Port. It was so much fun and no crowds.
Have Fun on your cruise! It will be June 2020 before you know it. 😁
@SREstrada216,
Before I went on the cruise I decided I wanted to spend one day on the ship to relax. I choose to do this with St Kitts based on multiple reviews and friends who have been there before. Perhaps next time I will explore. 😁
@bobduck1993 Thank you. It feels good to say I cruised. 😁
Yes I did take a tour of the island and I felt that the guide took us to sections that have been seriously destroyed by the hurricane. It actually made me so sad and guilty. The driver took us through some very sketchy areas and stopped in someone’s driveway to see a view of our ship. We all had to take turns taking pictures or we would fall off the hill. I loved Megan’s Beach and I wish I had spent more time on the beach. Next time I will choose a different tour.
Really glad you had a fantastic first cruise and you picked very well. RCI is a great cruise line and Freedom of the Seas is an equally great choice. I do agree with comments that most islands have something of value, but, we also do about the same thing you did. Since we have done most of the historic tours for East and West Caribbean cruises, we mostly just go into the port area, or very safe places, to shop, enjoy local drinks, and local music. Our last visit to St Kitts was to shop for the best priced libation for gifts to my coworkers and to have a couple of tall concoctions that are usually less expensive than shipboard drinks. We waited for the excursion crowds to leave, while enjoying a leisurely brunch, then spent about 3 relaxing hours in the port area before we got back on board for a leisurely lunch. Had to fuel-up for a leisurely relaxing afternoon! Are you planning your next cruise yet? It is never too soon to start😎
I am going to get my first cruise too now in June 2020 I was nervous but not now reading your post. Thank You for this opportunity to learn more about cruising for the first time. I am also thinking to spend time on board in one of the island for the same reason I am not reading alot about things to do. I am going to visit the island a little bit and back to the cruise . Thank you soooo much . I have older children 15 and 19 so I feel that your comment help me alot.
Somethimes we need to see things for ourselfs, St. Kitts is a beautiful island has lots of history and great culture. Places to see; Thimoty hill, Caribell Batik, Brimstone Fortress, black sand beach. Sorry to hear you missed out on this island.
