Review summary
We booked this cruise specifically because we wanted to go to St. Thomas. Less than 24hours before we were to sail Royal changed the itinerary to Nassua, Bahamas and Mexico. We had trip insurance and inquired if we could switch ships and take one out of Ft.Lauderdale because this ship was having "technical issues", we were told we would forfeit our money and have to completely pay again for the cruise if tried to switch to Ft. Lauderdale or if we choose not to go. To say we were Excessively Disappointed is an understatement! Royal treated us like we were captives, they can change the destinations and we had no choice but to accept it. Royals attitude was go to the changed destinations or loose your money, how is that Customer Centric? The lines at Port Canaveral were ridiculously long and unorganized. Instead of having everyone arrive at staggered times (as was the original instructions) the had everyone arrive at the same time. This created long lines of people standing out in the hot sun for hours on end.
I've sailed on Royal previously in 1999 and 2004 this time I found the food in the WindJammer to be of far less quality and selection. It was difficult to find healthy choices for breakfast and lunch that were not highly processed. Food in the dinning room was good although the sizes of protein were smaller and the side vegetables were very skimpy. They wait staff in the dinning room were terrific! So that is plus.
