Review summary

Freedom of the seas is a beautiful ship. I probably would have rated the cruise four or five stars, but less than 24 hours before the cruise was to depart we were informed of the following: Due to technical (actually mechanical problems) the itinerary would change from ST. Thomas, ST. Martin and coco cay to  2 days in Nassau Bahamas,Cozumel and Coco Cay. This was extremely disappointing having booked the cruise 8 months earlier for the eastern Caribbean. Also our cruise last year was in the western Caribbean which included Cozumel. The room, entertainment and service were all very good. The food in the main dining room was also good. The windjammer buffet was below average and very repetitious in its offerings. Once again the ship was great but just upset about the sudden change of itinerary.

Very clean and well kept

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Room was fantastic. My wife is confined to a wheelchair and this accessible room made her stay very nice.

Ship tip

Would not hesitate to cruise this ship again it is beautiful. Hopefully no changes in destinations will occur this time. The ship is very large but easy to get around. Elevators can be slow.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
Port is fairly easy to get around. We used parking at the port garage which made boarding and disembarking very easy.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
It's a very nice little island. Plenty of lounge chairs and a nice little BBQ lunch. They also have some trails on the island leading to some interesting views of the ship. Even found an eagles nest on the end of the island.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Did not visit port

Due to change of itinerary we did not visit St. Thomas( very dissapointing)

Philipsburg, St. Maarten Did not visit port

Due to change of itinerary we did not visit St. Maarten ( again very dissapointing)
