Review summary

Alaska's breathtaking views coupled with the service of Royal Caribbean makes for a perfect vacation!  Explorer has wonderful amenities and activities for kids of all ages, as well as adults.  I've found with other cruise lines that activities seem to be catered for a particular type of audience or age group, but Explorer had something for everyone.  The ship is beautiful, the service we received was outstanding, and the food was excellent.   This was my first time sailing with Royal Caribbean, but it will definitely not be my last!

Cabin / Stateroom

Having a private balcony was very nice, especially for an Alaskan cruise. We enjoyed the inside passages without having to find a spot on deck. Also perfect for whale watching.

Ship tip

The ship is very big and has a lot to offer. I would recommend familiarizing yourself with the layout before you cruise so that you have an idea of where amenities and activities are located.

I plugged it like I do at home. I take an extension adapter so I can plug in a few things at one time

Leave in 3 weeks. So excited. I was wondering if they have any sub ports in the room to charge an iPad? Thanks

I cruise several lines, this Alaska cruise in Sept will be my 36th. RC is MY favorite and I did an Explorer in Feb 2015. I loved it and it has been refurbished now.

This will also be my first cruise with Royal Caribbean, I've been on Carnival a few times & I'm definitely looking forward to this experience.
