little disappointing by zee49110781

staff great food is good. The review averages out to a higher rate than the ship should get, But the people and classical musicians and all the vocals. deserve recognition.

Nice ship Tasteless food by popo001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Food is plenty but not cooked right. I like the ship’s decor and cleanliness and I don’t mind cruising it again but mot my husband because of the food.

Mediocre cruise experience with great ports by renique88

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were assigned a room and then reassigned at the last minute (although it was an upgrade, thanks) we had to wait in the mile long guest services to do so. Holland needs to update their check in services/app. A simple notification that our room had changed would have sufficed. The only cruise "fun" was the BB King Live Band...but no karaoke? No other entertainment by the pool (hoola hoop, music host w/ games etc.) More daily entertainment! However, if you are looking to just rest and relax, it may be the perfect cruise for you! The same food every day almost. Lack of servers so extremely long wait times for simple things like ice cream. One day I waited 30 minutes for ground beef for tacos. Dinner times aren't scheduled, and selected dinners are an additional fee. Pizza ends at 11:30pm instead of 24 or at least 2am/3am like other cruises.

I enjoyed our Panama Canal Cruise. My husband and I enjoyed learning about the building of the Canal on our cruise. by profkathyadams

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Overall, my husband and I enjoyed Holland America and this Panama Canal Cruise. It was not our favorite cruise, as the scenery was not as beautiful as anticipated, but we can recommend it.

Holland America surpasses our expectations! by Kimberkk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

You can never go wrong with HAL! Very relaxed, easy going cruise and fellow passengers. Not partiers but can find as much or as little as you'd like to do onboard. Higher class of passengers and staff.

Ship was unstable the entire cruise. Sailing through Panama Canal interesting. Excursions were expensive. by FozzieJ

Disappointed. The ship was unsteady the entire cruise--a lot of nausea. Not many activities that we were interested in. Would not sail the Eurodam in the future.

Problems galore by bobandeva

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

We missed Costa Rica due to late departure and stopping for Haitian migrants. The pool was like a sauna because the retractable roof was broken. It rained in Panama and Curaçao.And they charged for lobster which never happened before on Gala night. They charged over $320 Canadian for a 75 minute massage!! Otherwise we had a good time.

Fantastic Service! by hoesslek

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Cruise was ok. The itinerary was fantastic, super bummed we missed Half Moon Cay, and Curacao because of Hurricane Nicole (completely understandable) however, the “refund” issued by the cruise line didn’t even come close to the cost of the extra night we spent waiting in a hotel room to depart. The service on the ship was exceptional and the staff were all amazing. If you’re a younger person, looking to take this cruise be aware most of the crowd aboard our ship were 60 and older.

Very nice. by Chouch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Very good overall and would recommend Holland America. On board service is excellent. Food is good and tasty. Highly recommend Tamarind restaurant. Steak at Lido and Pinnacle Grill just ok and can be skipped (Think Ponderosa/Sizzler/Golden Corral). Ship and cruise line aimed towards adults/seniors and not geared for children. Range of on-board activities adequate but could be more varied. Major con is poor Wi-Fi.

11 day then 12 day with Nicole Storm by susancotten29

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Quiet ship, older demographic, 70-75 average. Kinks to work out transition from Alaska to Southern Caribbean itinerary. Entirely too warm on most of ship, roof kept closed over pool too much, which made it unbearably sticky. Limited activities. (Outside of health related- fix metabolism, crows feet, back pain, etc.)

Holland America brand does not live up to reputation by Prabinow

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

The boarding process was extremely efficient, and rooms were ready almost immediately. Baggage followed within a few hours. Overall, the boarding process was excellent. We had an inside room (5024) it was clean and was nicely equipped. We did have a noisy neighbor (5018) was loud and obnoxious. We complained and it quieted down for a bit. It had a negative impact on our entire cruise as it continued erratically (3 AM, 4 PM, etc..).The room noise was attributed to a contractor and became a joke between staff and the contractor which really did not sit well with us. The food in specialty restaurants was excellent unfortunately the same could not be said for the main dining room. The lido deck buffet workers seemed confused about the menus and offerings. The omelet station person told me they were out of mushrooms on the first breakfast. I shook my head no and they magically found more. We had other issues with buffet line during a dinner service. The entertainment did not live up to the Holland America reputation. They were ok at best. The comedian that performed at the beginning of the cruise was so bad we did not go to see any of the other comedians. The piano players were our favorite and they were average. There was a general buzz of what priority members had access to compared to the rest of us extending above better accommodations something I had not experienced on other cruise lines. We had obtained a Holland America credit card as we had planned to become a loyal brand member however, after taking this cruise we are looking at booking with other cruise lines. We were planning to book the Alaska cruise for early 2023 however, we may also look to other lines. We did encounter a tropical storm/hurricane and the staff handled it exceptionally well as we did have an added day as we waited out the storm at sea. The un-boarding process was extremely efficient. Overall, the boarding/un-boarding process was excellent.

Great itinerary, crew and food by lorigrammy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

For old ppl. Won't go again. Too boring. Was only 1/2 to 3/4 full which was nice. No lines. No communication, no weather updates, Cpt only talked in knots and nautical miles and degrees- why bother

Disappointing Panama Canal Cruise - HAL has lost its charm. Heard the phase .. THEY USED TO . . . . . . THROUGJOUT THE CRUISE . HAL has cut back on every activity USED by thomnh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

After 19 HAL cruises, it is clear the direction is downhill. Many things have changed, none for the better. Sad that HAL has decided to cut corners. Every time you hear. . . "They used to" it is something that has been reduced or eliminated.

Great experience! Great ship staff! by karirigoni

The cruise was wonderful! The only criticism would be having too little time in Ketchikan and Victoria.
