Review summary

Time in port was too short. Icy Strait and Victoria were essentially at night. We have been on 10 Holland America cruises. We think food and activities have been down-graded. Many, many food items on the menus have an added cost. We tried room service breakfast once. We did this many times on previous cruises. The menu for this service is now very, very limited.

Embarkation

OK. Spent a lot of time in the cold for the airport shuttle. Probably would have been better to arrange our own transportation to the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Ok. Pinnacle Grill service not what it used to be. Too many items on menus have an extra charge even in the specialty restaurants after already paying an extra charge to go there. We had booked 3 dinners at the Pinnacle Grill but cancelled 2 after the first one. The service was better in the main dining room.

Service and Staff

Room stewards were great as were Mark and Michael in the main dining room.

Ship tip

Choose the Canaletto over the Pinnacle Grill. Service and food in Canaletto much better.
