We had a wonderful time and made the most of our stops in ports and the ships entertainment! My only disappointments were the cancellation of first port stop and the fact that American Airlines cancelled most of my excursions and all but one I was not notified about. Very poor communication.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Had to wait for COVID testing results. Then the cruise line switched ports to leave from without notifying us resulting in a 2 1/2 hour bus ride that we did not understand what was happening.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining room was very good, The Pinnacle excellent, the buffets were not special but good for a quick meal. The pizza and burgers on deck were very good also!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The hot tubs were a little small and loud. The outdoor hot tubs only fit 2 people comfortably. The pool was nice but a little cool at this time of year. Did enjoy the table tennis tournaments and shuffle board.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows, musicians and comedian were all very good! We also enjoyed the trivia games! Went every night to shows and then the BB King Blues Stage!
Children's Programs
No children with us or really on the ship.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our waiters and room stewards were excellent! Always friendly and helpful and smiling! Our room steward wanted to always make us happy! Very exceptional staff!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Very clean!
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our interior cabin was a little small but we expected that. We were not in the room very often and preferred to save the money. Very clean and well laid out.
Ship tip
Enjoy all the entertainment! Also, bring a sweater! I was often chilly.
Visited on our own before the cruise. Loved Venice with the canals all over the city! Very beautiful city! Enjoyed walking around and visiting cafes. I did book an excursion but it was cancelled without notification.
We were at this port two days! It was beautiful! Going there at night for a drink in a cafe and people watching was great! The small streets were magically lit up! Stopped in a local cafe for drinks and appetizer. It was amazing! Also found a beach that was out of the way. There were rock instead of sand but water was crystal clear. A little cold but was sure to go in anyways. Very pretty place!
Most beautiful of our visits. We did an excursion that included a tour of the old city and a trip to a winery. There was also a stop at a monastery on the highest peak of the island. Excellent views! Our tour guide was local and very good!
Not a lot to do at this port. My excursion to a National Park was cancelled without notification. We arrived too late to try to book at the port. Was disappointed. We did tour a church/museum/belltower. It was beautiful!
Port did not have a lot to do. Booked this tour through the ship. Took a boat to see 2 small islands. The islands were not crowded due to the time of year and many of the stores and restaurants were closed but a pretty place!
We did a private excursion to Lake Bled and the capital city. Lake Bled was touristy (which I did not expect from the photos) but very pretty! The capital city had a lot of canals like Venice. It was fun to walk around and our tour guides were very nice and answered all my husbands questions! The city of Koper was cool. We were able to visit briefly after our excursion.
Disembarkation, again, involved a 2 1/2 hour bus trip back to Venice but at least we expected it. Getting off the ship was easy and we found a cab to take us to the airport for 34 Euros. Much less expensive than the ship transport.
I will be flying into Venice and sailing out of Ravenna next year. I will stay in Venice for a week before the cruise. I plan on going back to the airport to take the cruise line’s shuttle bus to Ravenna. How did you get from Venice to Ravenna? Also I’m disappointed to hear that there is not much to do in Split, Croatia. Thanks for this detailed review.
