We had a great family vacation.  A few problems we ran into was, we couldn't get off at Coco Key because the water was so rough, and before even leaving for the cruise I found a cheaper price and Royal Caribbean wouldn't do anything to make it right with me. The windjammer was a good place to eat.  My kids loved ordering room service, and the staff was great.

Good Cruise, however not as good as others by speedlightwhite

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

While this cruise was enjoyable, I was surprised by the comparison to another ship. I went on the enchantment and got the unlimited drink package and thought it would be fantastic. It was, the drinks were enjoyable (if you can stand drinking rum non stop), however the attentiveness of the staff was lacking. Every time we went to a comedy show or some event that was going on (or even just sun tanning), the waiters were no where to be found. It seems like they have very little staff bringing people drinks. We went on the Carnival Victory the day after this cruise and the staff is always on top of things. They are always there offering you a drink .While some may find this annoying, if you have the unlimited drink package and actually want service, it is great. Another thing is that the enchantment is rather bland. The Victory had more decorations and a casino you could actually breathe in. The Enchantment's casino is so small it is hard to get by people a lot of the time.

Good food, good company, good entertainment and great service equals an excellent cruise experience by lacydtaylor

We had a very relaxing four day cruise to Nassau and the Bahamas aboard Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas. The only disappointment occurred because of the rough seas making it unsafe for the tenders to ferry us to Cococay. We have cruised with RC on two prior occasions and appreciate the atttention and care they have given to a broad range of cruising areas including: the food, the  entertainment, and the boarding and unboarding process. I particularly enjoy the exercise area availability, the quieter places where reading/snoozing/lounging/people watching & conversing occurs, and the dining (all aspects-food preparation, variety, convenience, service.....all top-notch). A highlight on all of our RC cruises has been the positivity and helpfulness of the Royal Caribbean staff.

So Disappointed by nmr51345

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I am a Gold member of the Crown and Anchor Society and with this cruise I met Platinum status.........(over 30 nights cruising) and this will be my last cruise on a Royal Caribbean cruise.  Since 1978 I have been on cruises 18 times and enjoyed all of them.  This was an exception to the rule......

First, the smoking in the Casino was unacceptable.  People were coming into that are just to smoke, not to gamble.......I had to leave so many times as the smoke was overwhelming.

Second...I chose this cruise to go to the private island of Coco Cay.  This destination was cancelled and nothing else was added to make this vacation wonderful.

Third...The lines.........I cannot remember ever standing in line on a cruiseline before.  I stood in  line to get into my 5:45 dining experience..  I stood in line to get breakfast in the dining room.......I stood in line to get food in the Windjammer........these lines were not short.......I stood in line to get into breakfast for 20 minutes........to me, this was unacceptable.

Fourth.........the food........I am appalled at the quality of the food on this cruise.  I felt like I was eating in an institutional cafeteria.  Baked potato and I was only offered sour cream........where was the butter, chives, bacon bits?  Oh and if you wanted a higher quality of food, you paid extra.........What was with that?  My prime rib was less than satisfactory and the steak was a joke.  The portions were extremely small.  One afternoon at the Windjammer, all that was offered for meat was the discusting hamburgers, meatballs and sweet and sour meatballs.....

Fifth....One night we were in the mood for a sweet around 10:30.........we walked the ship and found the Cafe.  The only food offered (besides room service) after 9 in the evening...........there was about 40 people in line for pizza (one coming out at a time) and the sandwiches were pre-wrapped.......we decided to go back to our room and have some candy we brought onboard.

Sixth....Our room was lovely but the first night, no towel animal and every night.......no mint on our pillow...........really, this was anything but a luxury vacation.

Seventh.........staff.........the wait staff was lovely, but I feel there was a lack of staff to accommodate the amount of people on the boat.  On our last morning, I was not offered a roll, or sweet with my meal and I am still waiting for my glass of tomato juice.

Eight.....When I opened the menu and saw that I could get Lobster but it would cost me an additional $29.95........I thought........are they going the way of the airlines?  Charge me up front, but treat your passengers like you want them to return.  We were 8 at our table and all of us found ourselves complaining about the food and service.

I am not a negative person.....during the past year I have taken 2 cruises on Carnival.  I had always heard that Carnival was an inferior cruise line and I encouraged my friends to join me on a Royal Caribbean to see how the other half lives........I am so embarrassed as this was not a good experience for any of us.  We are getting ready  to book a 7 day and no way will we consider a Royal Caribbean. This may have been an older ship but I expected Royal treatment.

Great time. by geraldine620

Great cruise!  We celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary on the ship.  We'll do it again next year.   My Fair Lady dining room had excellent food and service.   The Windjammer buffet dining was also nice, people just ate and ate - great variety and lots of food.  The entertainment was also great - I especially enjoyed The Nexus Band!  Enchantment of the Seas in a wonderful ship!

Four night cruise on Enchantment of the Sea frin Canaveral by jlrclock

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Cruise was excellent, room with balcony was roomy and very comfortable.

My wife was not particularly happy with the quality of the food served in the dining room for dinner meal although we really did enjoy or breakfasts in the dining room.  The dining room wait staff was excellent.

Our cabin person did an excellent job and made us feel very comfortable.

The organization for getting off the ship with our own luggage was very well done, better than most other cruises we have been on.

Just OK by mpearcemd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I have cruised frequently and this experience was not what I expected.  The weather prevented debarkation at the private island.  This could not be avoided but it was explained that at this time of the year, it is a common occurrence for weather to prevent the tender boats from being able to take passengers to the island.  Why schedule that on the itinerary then?  It would make more sense to schedule a stop in another port where the boat can be docked during the winter months.  This situation reduced 50% of our experiences off of the ship. Also, the beds were very uncomfortable and although the wine list was extensive, only a few of the wines listed were actually available and most of those were mediocre at best.  The wait staff was excellent, however, and the food was good.Sad

Not Happy by nldnicki

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

If this were my first cruise experience, it would be my last. Port Canaveral is too far from airport. Set up transfer. It may be the cheapest route. Dinner on the last night shut down too early on Enchantment, and Breakfast shut down by 8 am on last day , and was only offered in dining room. Other mishaps made it a bad experience but the cruise didn't make up for it. The drinks were strong, good thing, but the taste of other beverages like tea and lemonade had no taste. Not a lot of food variety in Windjammer Cafe either. Only saw my room Steward at beginning and end. Not helpful.

They need to make some changes by myfloridateam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Let me begin by saying that I have sailed with RCC several times before, and have never been disappointed. However, if this had been my first cruise with them, I would never sail with them again. Let's start with the bar service at the pool and on the decks. I am handicapped, so I stayed onboard the boat the entire trip. I camped out by the pools, book in hand, and rollator walker parked beside my chair. In four days, I was approached twice by a waiter at the pool. It appeared that the wait staff for the pools did not start their shifts until 2:00. The entertainment consisted of 3 night of comedians, the first being average and the remainder needed to be sent home. The final night there was a Grand Opening of a song and dance production, which was good but still needed some more practice time. I really think the ship could have promoted the show more, as none of us knew about it until the day of the show. In room entertainment was even worse, there were no news channels available at night, and only CNN from England in the morning. There was an episode of "Middle" which played over and over again throught out the day, and that was the only show in English, other than all of the advertisments for the products and services offered on board. There were other sitcoms that were made in the US, but had been dubbed with the German or Spanish languages. I just thought that if 95% of your passengers are English, maybe the entertainment available should reflect that. As an example to that, all of the announcements made by the staff, and all of the shows performed were done in English. I also had a discussion with the head waiter one night. I had ordered a "Mojo Pork chop" which was extremely over cooked. I mentioned this to the waiter, and he explained that "by law" they had to cook pork and other cuts of meat  to a well done status. I explained that I understood and knew what well done meant, but that the pork chop was over cooked. He gave me the same argument again, and offered to bring me another chop, which I said was not necessary. Nonetheless, another chop was delivered, and it was even more overcooked than the first one.

There was nothing special about the breakfast buffet as well. There was a lot of food available, but all of it was average at best. The egg served up made to order omelets that appeared to be made by children,  a very poor presentation.

That being said, the food was good, but not exceptional. However, our service staff did everything they could do to make dinner a pleasant experience.

As I mentioned, I have sailed with RCC several times, and this is the first bad experience I have had. They normally do a great job, but missed it on this trip.

Nice Service- Old Ship by lgray6942

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The ship was in need of a lot of painting, rust could be seen in numerous places.  Also, the carpeting was worn, and there was a lot of signs of aging.  Such as loose bathroom fixtur3es in the common baths, and cracked glass on the main pool deck.  However, the price made this an excellent voyage.  The weather was rough in Early December, but we expected that and easily managed the waves.  Having cruised on two other cruise lines, I was disappointed in both the quality and the variety of the food offerings.  The buffet was lacking several items common on both Carnival and Princess cruise lines.  My pork chop in the "My Fair Lady" dining room was very tough, and I could only eat half of it.  Another complaint- there was a 16.95 upcharge for beef tenderloin, and a 29.99 up-charge for lobster tail (both free on Princess).

The room was nice, we had an inside cabin on deck 3.and it seemed larger than it was - more than enough room for two adults.  Only problem was the leaking sink drain that soaked all our belonging on the first night.  It was fixed around 430 the second day- a little late for my liking, but it never leaked again.

Dance, always dance. by cxhx85

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This ship was very fun.  The crew and staff were amazing and so helpful.  The ones I met were very personable and lovely to talk with.  I didn't spend one dime when on the ship (you don't need to!) and I had more than enough.  The food was incredible and you'll never go hungry.  There are so many opportunities to dance and we danced hard.  It was great meeting other people as well who were cruising.  The ship was clean and the help, amazing.  Good work.

Enchantment of the Seas cruise by cruising40

We were somewhat disappointed in this cruise, due to decreased quality of food and entertainment, compared to a longer seven day cruise.  The staff was the usual very good Royal Caribbean quality, however.

Enchantment of the Sea Review by akahan71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My review was two stars because we didn't get to visit Royal's Island because of the weather and the experience that I had in the dining room on Wednesday night.  We had a waiter that was filling in for our regular waiter and he ask me who had the salad and I went to tell him and he waved his hand to tell me to be quiet and then I went to ask him to ask him where our regular waiter was and then he waved his hand again to tell me to be quiet as he went to tell me this story about something none related because he didn't hear my question all the way out, then I told him I didn't ask him that I just wanted to know where our waiter was as he was going to tell me to be quiet again my relative told him to leave because he was being rude and then he walked off and then told the other waiters that he wasn't going to wait on us anymore well everyone in the dining room was looking the waiters started laughing he went to another table no one came to see what was going on until the next night when only 4 of us in a party of 21 returned to the dining room then our regular waiter Dane came back and he asked where was everybody then I told him and he went to get the head man of the dining room so that I can tell him THIS COULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED IN A MUCH MORE PROFESSIONAL WAY

Entertainment by rjtania

I thought there was not enough activities for older people.  There should be more entertainment for older people during the day.  Royal Caribbean always have a lot more to do and this time I was a little disappointed.

Warren was our server who made us feel comfortable on our dinner table. He was quicko follow up the quality and service. We were very impressed. My 3 previous cruises had a few issues. This  was awesome. We signed up for another cruise in 2015.

Interlude on the seas by TGL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Although RCL's Enchantment of the Seas is an older cruise vessel, we were very pleased with our cruise.  The staff was most attentive, serving, and helpful.  We found the ship to be clean and well maintained.  The entertainment was family friendly and, except for the final evening, kept at a tolerable volume.  Even at night while others kept going we were able to retire and sleep without the loud, obnoxious, bleating & beating we had to suffer on the Carnival cruise we took last year, loud "so called" music we could feel as well as hear in our stateroom.   We were disappointed weather kept us from the private island and not being compensated for missing that port of call, but in every other way we were completely satisfied.  The way the staff, including senior staff, kept making sure we were being satisfactorily served and had no questions.

Royal Caribbean is awesome! by zambukamum

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had not cruised for over 12 years, mostly in part because of poor management of the large crowds of people you experience when boarding and debarking.

Royal Caribbean handles all aspects of cruising to perfection.  When we got to Cape Canaveral, we parked our car, checked in, and immediately we boarded. No lines, no hassles.  When we returned, we opted to carry our own luggage off the boat, so again, we woke up, packed and walked off the boat. Bang....just like that.

The onboard entertainment was great and different each night.  During the day, there are plenty of onboard activities, or you can just choose to relax by the pool.  The ship provides you with a "cruise compass" daily in your room, so you can plan out what you want, or don't won't to do each day. We found this resource very valuable.  They also have interactive screens by the elevators on each deck that give you the same information, so you don't miss any activities.

The only thing we were slightly disappointed in was the dining room.  Yes, the food was good if not great, but the service was slow and the portions were small.  A much better dining option would be the Wind Jammer Restaurant located on the 9th deck. It is a buffet with a huge assortment of fresh food. The waiters are attentive to your needs, and are always coming around to check on you.

At night they play movies outside by the pool on the 9th deck, the picture quality is good, and no matter where you get a seat, the sound is superb.

Be sure to catch disco night! It is an hour long show in the Centrum on the 5th Deck.  The cruise director Tom stars in this production, and you will find your self dancing and singing along.....it was a lot of fun.

We highly recommend this cruise, and look forward to returning.

Leigh and Brian

This was our first time took a ship cruise for Thanksgiving holiday. We are four people two American and two Chinese for the holiday break.  We had an excellent time in this ship. The dining foods were delicious, plus the nice services made us very happy had the holiday on the ship.  The room services people not only clean well in our room, but also used the towel made special decorations for us.   We like the music programs enjoyed them very much.  We had an excellent time for the holiday.  I would like to bring my family and guests to take this cruise again.  I am sure I will recommend our friends to take this cruise go to Bahamas as well.
