Overall food could improve because that’s one reason i like to cruise to get good foods besides the ports. But it was almost disappointing everytime you ordered something if it would be good or not. One night nothing sounded good so i paid for a chops grille filet. Just could use more pizazz.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was easy with having the test done before hand. We arrived at our scheduled time and everything was smooth. We got on right away but had the wait for rooms to be ready about 2pm which was standard. We did have to fetch our suitcases from an area though if we wanted them faster to unpack and get settled.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Some drinks i had on the ship weren’t good. My pina colada still had crunchy ice cubes. It was better to just get wine by the bottle and enjoy it over the course of a couple days and turned out to be cheaper if you don’t have the beverage package. Food was hit and miss. Some stuff was good but some stuff wasn’t good at all. The risotto was crunchy like it was cooked too long but loved the lobster tail and crispy coconut shrimp. Also wish the buffet was more organized and had more Asian dishes. It was just a mess when it got crowded up there.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pools were fine. They had one hot tub closed and was green. I only swam in the pool once and the ground was really hot around the pool and it wasn’t like that on NCL. Everything was crowded because ship was almost at full capacity.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Not the best entertainment. I liked the magician but i wasn’t blown out of the water for the rest. A lot of trivia and name that tune. I liked the adult coloring. But not a lot to do.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service and staff is always a 5 on every ship I’ve been on. Every one of them has gone out of their way to be sweet and help. We had the same dining staff every night and they remembered how we liked our tea and remembered our drinks and even what rolls we liked best and would bring extra. We would have wine and they’d bring a cheese plate with fruit and freshly fried potato chips that weren’t even on the menu. The chips were so good. Our room attendant was very good and always got us ice. We’d also see our dinner servers doing breakfast every morning. But they were always smiling and positive.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It was always clean, definitely getting old but it’s a quaint smaller ship. There was an issue with the couch bed and they couldn’t get it back in like it was broken but they fixed it. The flusher takes forever to flush and was annoying me but i dealt with it. Also I’m allergic to cigarette smoke so wasn’t able to enjoy the casino like i would’ve because half of it is smoking and they don’t close any section off. So if it’s busy it’s hard for me to breathe in there.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Cabin was a spacious ocean view. We loved the storage and the window seat is nice. But the flusher was annoying and wouldn’t always flush. We started figuring out the sink had to turn on then maybe it’d flush. We had trouble with the sofa bed and thought it broke because she couldn’t put it back but then they were able to fix it.
Ship tip
Bring a book or prepare to relax without a whole lot of entertainment. It was a fun cruise but wouldn’t go on the ship again.
Amazing port. There was 4 ships total in port that day and never felt too crowded. Found this great spot called gray cliff hotel through viator and did a hot tea and sandwiches and cakes lunch. They even gave us free champagne. We went to the Atlantis hotel to play at the casino and that was fine spent an hour and a half still playing on $20. Had a great time and would go back again for sure. Everyone was nice and vendors weren’t very pushy.
Love this town. Everyone is nice. I loved the aquarium, historic ships, babe Ruth museum and Edgar Allen Poe house. We stayed 4 nights before the cruise. Also the Peabody library is gorgeous!
Was a nice island. I didn’t wanna pay extra so i just did the oasis lagoon and got a drink at the swim up bar. They also had a tram to get you around the island for free. The free food was almost better on the island than on the ship. I had tacos, and bbq chicken, they also had burgers and hot dogs.
We did an excursion to coco beach. Was a blast and enjoyed the shops near by. Also had amazing coconut shrimp at captain J’s. The weather that day was perfect!
Super cute town, i didn’t do an excursion and walked around. I ate at magnolias but you must make a reservation first. It’s worth it very much. Check out Byrd’s cookies. Definitely a town I’d love going back to.
Loved this! You got to sign up for the latest time you wanted and got to stay in your room until that time then you could disembark. Was very smooth getting off and finding our bags.
We were on the same sailing, and embarkation took 2 hours! It is subjective, but we thought food was fine, and staff wonderful. Entertainment always varied, some like, others do not. Ship had 1712 passengers, about 65% capacity. Nothing seemed crowded.
Small cruise ships can be an acquired taste, with some not liking the lack of varied activities, crowding in specific areas.
Food on most ships right now is a struggle with supply issues and CDC guidelines. It's been hard since COVID but hopefully things will improve!
