Review summary

This was another fine cruise with RCL. There were no surprises since we knew what to expect ahead of time. Great weather all week although there were some overnight storms. Ship was at about 80% capacity. There was no lie band during the day on the pool deck which we like because sometimes the music can be quite loud. Yes we are old farts. The younger crowd may not enjoy this ship. I think that as the pandemic situation improves the live bands and variety of entertainment will return.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was okay except that we had to show documents numerous time even though we completed the on line check in completely. We had to show our Sea Pass seven times prior to boarding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was okay in the MDR and the Windjammer as well. I did get a strip steak that I could not eat because it was too tough but that can happen. Disappointed that they no longer have pizza in the Windjammer. We did not have any of the beverage packages; the flavored water was fine and we ordered a soda or alcoholic drink when we wanted which was only twice.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We like to just relax and enjoy the ocean sounds when we cruise so we did not partake in any activities.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We only attended two of the shows (Doo Wop group) and they were very good.

Children's Programs

We did not travel with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the crew members were great! Very helpful and friendly! Our cabin steward Seby took good care of us.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Although the ship was very clean there are some areas inside that need some attention. There was rust on the inside window sill in the MDR.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were very pleased with our cabin. Plenty of room and we liked the tub/shower combo. The upgraded shampoo and body wash are very good smelling! The woodwork is outdated but we knew that beforehand.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5
The port itself is nice. We stay out of Baltimore. We live close to the port.

Charleston, South Carolina

5 out of 5
Had a great day in Charleston. We walked around the point area and town and then took a carriage ride. Straw market people were friendly and not over bearing. Be cautious of the young men trying to forcibly sell you palm flowers.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy disembarkation. A quick glance at our passports was it. I like the fact that you can choose your disembarkation time and wait in your stateroom until it is your turn.
