Review summary

RC was great - so wonderful to be on a ship again. (Our last cruise was March 8, 2020, and we were stuck on Lady G for 12 days as we could not port due to CDC order.) Staff was masked, and some passengers. Service was wonderful. We are so very grateful after six cancelled cruises. Was to take this cruise late January 2022, but moved it to this March, and very glad. Weather was awful for the Jan one, I was told. They said this was the best weather since resuming sailing. Coco Cay exceeded my expectations. About 65% capacity, wonderful! Only disadvantage was a lot of excursions were not available due to lack of participation.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Two hour wait to embark. Only two ticket takers at the desks. Passengers said it was worst they ever had. We had 1712 passengers, about 65% capacity.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
WJ great - could take grab and go items, staff served rest. Like it that way. MDR tried a few times, wrong food, service slow (45" for dinner to come).

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Used fitness center, trivia. Staff very helpful and cheerful at all times.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Good variety, excellent singers and performers. RC could not do stage production due to staff illness, so headlined two excellent singers. Olympic gymnast Lance Ringnald great - talked to him in the gym, a wonderful gentleman.

Children's Programs

Did not travel with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward, Aleus, and all staff were excellent. Cheerful and hardworking.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Clean, easy to get around.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
First time in interior, very tiny. But we are just there to dress, bathe and sleep. Had noise issues in other types of rooms, and this was blissfully dark and quiet.

Ship tip

Talk to staff about their homeland, interests, etc. You will find they appreciate it and they speak many languages.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

Just embarked there. Staff friendly.

Charleston, South Carolina

Very pristine and beautiful. Walked on our, visited many famous sites.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
It was my birthday (Joy turned 62) and it was soooo perfect! The park was practically empty. We did the water slides multiple times with no wait. The day before, we were told two megaships were in and there was a 90 minute wait. Buffet great. Can't wait to go back.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Bay Street crowded and just selling a lot of tourist tat. Walked on our own to Queen's Staircase, Fort Fincastle, Parliament Houses, and many others. Talked to the friendly natives whom are very proud of their country. Get away from the pushy vendors at the port to experience the "real" place anywhere.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very fast and smooth. Was in my car driving less than 30 minutes after leaving the room.
