Review summary

I got sick on the first day of the cruise, the air conditioning between the int'l flight and cruise ship brought on a nasty upper respiratory issue. Other than that, the cruise was lovely but I think I would have preferred a smaller number of people. There was never enough seating in the Piazza for anything going on there. It was very crowded and for the very first time on any of our cruises, there were actually really rude people (those cruising). I was really surprised.

Embarkation

Flew into Rome, unfortunately did not book for an extra day or two there, so it was a bit of a mad dash. Could use better instructions on locating the Princess Cruise Team at the airport though. Note: This was an 11 day cruise Rome to Barcelona, not a 25 day cruise as showing above.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Opted for Club Dining this cruise. Will always use this going forward. It's nice to feel special :) SHARE was EXCELLENT and enjoyed our anniversary dinner there. Would def. recommend.

International Café

5 out of 5

For as much business as this area gets, there has only been one waitstaff person that seemed grumpy. Good assortment of foods, coffees and other drinks. Our early morning stop every day of the cruise.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
In most cases, if we you want to have a seat or participate, be sure to arrive at least 1/2 hour earlier than the event. It was a very crowded ship.

Photo Gallery

Felt rather ripped off by this. $15 per photo is very steep. The packages were very expensive as well. In this day and age with all the technology available, photos should not cost this much. It might be better to offer a digital package only.

Beauty Salon

Had a great experience with a lovely young woman named Noluthando. Pricing was decent and she was wonderfully friendly.

Entertainment

Good shows and musicians.

Service and Staff

Cabin / Stateroom

Perfect location. Midship. Even when it was rough water, it did not appear that way in the cabin. Always clean. Steward was great!

Ship tip

1. The photographs are incredibly expensive (even with the package). Def. NOT worth it at $15 per photo!!! 2. Be sure to book at least an extra day pre-cruise in whatever city you are flying into. Huge stress reliever!

Ports of call

Kotor, Montenegro

Loved Kotor! The winding streets, the cats, the marketplace. It was exactly as I imagined. Beautiful town.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Loved Dubrovnik and our Tour Guide. Walked the walls. The guide made this one of the best excursions. Young and in love with his country and a wealth of information. An absolutely stunning place to visit. Be prepared for lots of walking!

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

One absolutely HUGE city. Toured the Parthenon, etc. Was awe inspiring and beautiful. Spent some time shopping and eating. Did a lot of walking.

Santorini, Greece

I missed our excursion. I was too sick by the time it was to visit Santorini. Husband went and said it was beautiful and he was happy with the tour but that it would have been much better had I been with him :) (He loves me :) )

Ajaccio, Corsica Did not visit port

It was raining much too hard and I was still recovering from being sick.

Sete (Carcassonne), France Did not visit port

We did not stop here because of the weather.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
We remained in Barcelona for an extra 3 days. Would have remained for the rest of my life, given the opportunity! An incredible city with very friendly people. Stayed at the Gallery Hotel, which was excellent. Ate at many places, drank at many places and walked constantly. Will definitely be back to Barcelona. Also, if you are into purchasing high end items for much less than what you would pay in the US, be sure to shop the Passeig de Gracia! LOVE YOU BARCELONA!

Disembarkation

No problems at all. Specific area for those with Club Class.

You had a good itinerary and ship, just so sorry about your sinus situation, I had that experience but the people from the dining room were so very nice and made sure that I had plenty of hot tea with lemon that seemed to help! Glad you were able to enjoy inspite of the sinusitis!
