My First Cruise by CarolynK1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The Wonder was a very clean, well organized ship on which the crew saw to our every need. We enjoyed the Bingo events, the deck party, the food, didn't see any of the shows because was too tired by 9 - 10 (already know Disney puts on great shows from visiting Disney World). Crew had difficulty coping with so many kids wanting to buy pirate merchandise in afternoon of deck party(not well planned out).

The Disney Wonder is absolutely... by CruiseMan3000

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The Disney Wonder is absolutely one of the best cruise ships that I have ever embarked on during my tenure in the cruise line industry to date. This ship is remarkable inside and out and is a true crowd pleaser when it comes to the food, entertainment, and overall ship experience. Issued into service in 1999, the Disney Wonder has been gracing the high seas with the familiar characters from the Disney Corporation for more than a decade. To coordinate with the convenience of Disney World in Orlando, the Disney Wonder sails from Port Canaveral, Florida to the Bahamas regularly with three, four, and special five night sailings. With Disney Cruise Line expanding with more vessels, the Disney Wonder will be heading to the west coast (Los Angeles, California). There, she will offer itineraries to the Mexican Rivera and a first for Disney Cruise Line, Alaska. An identical replica of her sister, the Disney Magic (issued in 1998), the Disney Wonder is truly the ultimate vacation destination for the entire family. There are certain portions of the ship that are reserved for every member of the family, kids, teens, and adults alike. No age group over powers the other, and in my perspective, the kids did not take over and rule the ship, as one may suspect with it being Disney. The food onboard is phenomenal and keeps the palate 100% satisfied! There are four restaurants onboard, of which you transition through three for the duration of your voyage. Each restaurant is different and specializes in certain cuisines from all over this eclectic world (The fourth restaurant, Palo, is not included with the cruise price and requires an additional cover charge). There is an outdoor movie screen on the pool deck. The screen showcases Disney Channel shows and famous Disney films all throughout the cruise. There is also an indoor movie theatre that shows films from more of the contemporary Disney film library. The line to meet and greet the Disney characters that come out and roam the ship can be very lengthy at times, but Disney keeps the characters in heavy rotation. So a picture with your favorite character can be possible before you disembark. One night on the ship, there is a guest interactive deck party. The production is awesome and it ends with a real live firework production off the aft (back) portion of the ship. Disney Cruise Line also does one of the best sail away celebrations I have ever witnessed in the industry. Unlike the other leading main stream cruise lines, Disney Cruise Line offers FREE sodas on every one of their ships for the entirety of the voyage. They also have a cruise check-in at the Orlando International Airport; so in essence, when you get to Port Canaveral (where the ship is docked) you walk right onto the vessel. The Disney Wonder provides nothing else but world class entertainment. Two of the shows that highlight any cruise on this ocean liner are, Disney Dreams and The Golden Mickey. Also, Disney Cruise Line is the only cruise line that does not have a casino onboard any of their vessels. The cruise prices for a three or four night cruise on the Disney Wonder can be very expensive, compared to the other main stream cruise lines that run the same cruise, but IT IS WROTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY! Disney Cruise Line cannot even be ranked with any other cruise line, for they are in a completely and utterly different league. On a scale from 1.0 to 5.0, I give the Disney Wonder a 4.7 (Making this the best cruise I have ever been on--rating wise). This ship is definitely a must cruise for any cruiser or family. Book a Disney Cruise today and experience the fun children of all ages can get enough of, Captain Mickey and his crew will be awaiting your arrival

Very Disappointing by CatherineH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

I was disappointed that our cabin was run down and dirty. The quality of the food was very poor. Not much to do for adults. Lots of flies in every restaurant. Unsanitary! Very overpriced!

"Now I'm spoiled" by SusieP1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I loved everything! We went Nov 2008 for my daughter's 7th birthday and they treated her like a princess, she absolutely loved it! The only thing I didn't like was the photo shop pricing. You pay like $ 70 or $ 80 for 10 different pictures but that doesn't include all pictures only certain ones. The rest are to be purchased by the sheet. You should be able to choose from every picture they take!

what a let down by LeslieB7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Very disappointing - extremely overpriced! The ship was impeccably clean, but only at the passengers' inconvenience. Areas of the ship were roped off during the day for maintenance (painting, pressure washing, etc.). The first day, pool chairs were available, but each day, more chairs were removed, stacked, covered, and tied down. By the last day, we had to either sit under the deck above or on the pool edge since there were very few chairs poolside. They have an adult's only pool, but we couldn't enjoy because they do not have lifeguards at the other pool. The food was terrible - we ate hotdogs, chicken tenders, and fruit the entire trip. The island was great, but we rented snorkeling equipment ($90) that we didn't get to use because 15 minutes or so later it started to rain and everyone had to leave the island. They do not offer rainchecks or refunds.

Wonerful Cruise by MariaY2

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I am a 53 year old grandmother of 5 girls and I am a disney nut. I had opportunity to go on a Disney cruise with 2 of my grandchildren this past fall. I think that I was more excited about going than the children were. I had been to disney many times but never on the cruise. When we arrived everything was made so easy for us to board the ship. It was someone at almost your every step to help you. When we arrived they were having a party, which they made fun for all ages. There was never ending food which was great. When we went to our rooms there was someone there to greet us and assure us that she would be there to take care of our every need and she did just that the entire time that we were there. It was nice to go to different restarants each and watching them do something different each night in each restarant but having the same waiter each night. What was great was that he paid attention to what we liked and would bring us little things that we liked. The charactors were everywhere and I loved it. When we went to the shows, it was like being at a real Broadway show with no bad seats. The shows were entertaining for both young and old. I could go on this cruise every year.

Nobody does it better than Disney!!!!! by Kk3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We have travelled from Port Canaveral and Miami with Carnival. Embarkation and Debarkation with Disney was sooooo easy. Disembarking the ship was a breeze. We left the dining room at 7:30 am, had our luggage and was at our car in the parking lot before 8:00am. The ship was so clean! The staff make it a point to keep everything spotless! Our wait staff was the best! Oliver from Australia and Z from Serbia took the best care of us. As we approached our table on the first night in the dining room, they each greeted my children by name. Impressive to say the least! The food was fabulous! Menu options gave everyone something new to try. My husband usually ordered two entrees! The spa was great! Mom really needed a quiet and restful getaway! My children 10 and 6 loved Oceaneer Club and Lab. The activiites were endless. Treasure Hunts, game shows etc.... The Shows in the Disney Theater were fabulous. My entire family enjoyed them. Castaway Cay was very relaxing. It is best to get off the ship early so that you can get chairs close to the water. We are already looking to book again with Disney, maybe a 7 day next time!

A relaxing cruise by DeborahA9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We recently sailed on the Disney Cruise ship Wonder to Nassau Bahamas and their Castaway Cay. Everyone we talked to told us we would love the Disney Cruise and we did. Our purpose was to relax and spend some time together, without feeling pressure to participate in the ship and shore activities - although we did go ashore in each stop to at least walk around and see the ports. While it was only my husband and I in the stateroom, we really enjoyed having the shower with a sink separate from the bathroom, which I had not seen or heard of on a cruise ship. Disney may be the only lay person cruise line that has this feature. We also greatly enjoyed having the balcony on the port side so that we were able to watch the ship dock and undock, which is quite amazing. The food was some of the best we've eaten on a cruise ship, the servers were very attentive and we felt pampered. We will definitely cruise with Disney Cruise Lines in the future. It was well worth the money and we would highly recommend Disney with or without children.

Great Family Vacation!! by CarrieJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Wonder / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Staff was friendly and great with my kids...knew them by name. There was plenty for my six year old son to do, but unfortunately not many activites that my 2 year old could be included in. The characters were greta and interactive with the kids, and the shows were awesome...way better than expected!!
