Wonderful Disney Cruise by Bookdragon71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Wonderful cruise with never enough time to do and see it all. Pack light and casual. 2 rough days for me at sea with the ship rocking. Be sure to take the meds for that. You will never be hungry and can eat at all times of the day. Castaway Cayes was amazing!!

Nobody does it like Disney by amberts1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I loved my balcony room and seeing all the characters. I would have liked to have visited the Adults Only areas more. We had a separate pool area, cafe, lounges, a pub, THE WORKS! I wish there were more Disney-interactive opportunities for adults, or even just a computer area with maybe a virtual reality game where we went into Toy Story or the Lion King movie scenes. I found that I did need to connect with the shore occasionally and only the kids were able to use the computers on the ship.

Disney Dream- Very Merrytime Christmas Cruise by CruisinDiva

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We sailed aboard the Disney Dream for our second time. I think we already knew this, but our cruise on the Dream proved that three nights just isn’t long enough. It is an amazing ship with just the right amount of Disney touches where it is not overwhelming! We all know that Disney does things their own way but did you know that they could not decide on a color for the ship, they knew they wanted the classic ship look and finally a co worker in the office named Monica had a pair of dark blue pants on and it fit the bill! The hull of the ship is called Monica Blue! (but she receives NO royalties…bummer) it also took two years to copyright the Mickey yellow life boats! Legally they are supposed to be orange so Disney had to prove that they can be seen in case of an emergency just as well. Yup, as usual they got what they wanted and I have to say it is a beautiful ship.

This specific sailing was a Very Merrytime Christmas Cruise. These are available on sailings departing November through Christmas!

On the ship, discover a festive fusion of holiday-themed entertainment, activities and décor—with a life-sized gingerbread house, 24-foot Christmas tree, garlands, poinsettias, shimmering lights and more! Castaway Cay also has a few Merry touches! (Did you know that 100 crew members actually live on the island!) not a bad deal huh! and for a bit of movie Trivia….Splash with Tom hanks was filmed there before Disney owned it!

Some of the Holiday onboard enhancements include:

Deck the Deck Tropical Holiday Party, a celebration in addition to Pirate Night, with candy-cane limbo, dancing and games. Tree Lighting Ceremony, where kids can help light the tree and kick off the holiday festivities, Santa Claus meet-and-greet, an exciting opportunity to take family pictures and see Santa and his elves, Meet-and-Greets with some favorite Disney Characters, dressed in their holiday attire, Teen-only and tween-only holiday parties—private celebrations where teens and tweens can hang out with new friends. Holiday storytelling, with new and old tales about holidays at sea and around the world. Themed activities and crafts for kids—decorate stockings, make holiday cards, go on a holiday scavenger hunt and more. A life-sized gingerbread house made completely with edible ingredients—and the opportunity to make your own gingerbread house. Holiday merchandise is also available for this event.

I do recommend this cruise for families of all generations. There are adult only areas and how amazing will it be for the grandparents to attend a pirate party with the kids! These are so fun! they also feature what used to be the only fireworks show at sea! Until recently Norwegian Cruise Line also has them now.

As always Disney did exceed my expectations. The service, food and cleanliness of the ship was exceptional. If you are a Disney addict you will enjoy it. If you are not….once you get past all the kids (well it is Disney)…you will also!

Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Me on my cruise with a view of the Nassau port behind me.

Since this was my first cruise ever, I chose the Disney Dream.  I was not disappointed.

The ship although very large was very clean and well-maintained.

The staff very attentative and no detail too small.

Best Cruise I Could Ever Dream Of! by RealLifeMinnieM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words...this picture doesn't even begin to describe our wonderful vacation on the Disney Dream. From the time we boarded the ship until the very last day, our entire cruise was magical. The Disney Cast members were all very wonderful and friendly, treating us like we were the celebrities instead of just people. The activities on board were endless, including the activities for the children of all ages (yes, us adults, too!) The food was magnificent, as well as the service. Our stateroom host was the best, always keeping our room clean and leaving us magical gifts in our room. If you are looking for a fun, adventurous, all-inclusive cruise, this is it! You can't get any better than Disney!!

Everything was wonderful ! Excellent service , food and fun. I took my Grandchildren ages 21.19.14 and 12 on this cruise everyone had a great time. This was my 6th. Disney cruise and I am looking forward to my 7th. Everyone had such a great time. All loved the island and just relaxing in the sun. The shows were funny . The Grandchildren loved the karaoke and Pirates night , I must say the fireworks were more than I expected this time. Our dining crew was fabulous no matter where they saw you on the ship or island they addressed you and by your first name. Thank you Disney

All good except the kids’ club by KarenP59

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream

We had a great vacation even though the ship felt more crowded than any other experience we have ever had. Our heart hurt when our 12 yr old was denied Oceaneers Club b/c of an unexpected new rule. Enjoyed the dining rooms & Castaway the most. Beauty & the Beast was outstanding too.

Disney Dream - not just for kids! by jazzybanks

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Disney Dream

This was the most magical vacation ever. Disney Cruise isn’t just for kids but, for anyone who is young at heart. I traveled as a solo adult. My only con is that Disney doesn’t offer a drink package but, honestly that wasn’t much of a problem either since they Team Coke! And oh my god I adore they had the good ice too! I will definitely be back 💖

Great Ship by wdrobertson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a great trip in January with our family of 4. We were very lucky with the weather and probably would book at a warmer time of the year next time as the ocean was cold at Castaway Cay for swimming. Ship is beautiful and has everything. Only thing we didn't like is the crowded feeling on the pool deck. Otherwise we didn't feel crowded. Rooms are excellent. I highly recommend a balcony as it was definitely worth the extra money what other ship would you get two bathrooms. Arriving and departing by rental car (Hertz and then Enterprise) was very convenient and easy. Would highly recommend as it allowed us to enjoy for 2 days before and Kennedy Space Centre upon arrival back at Port before flying out the next day.

First time to Cruise on Disney Dream by Happy2Bhere

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We enjoyed our first Disney Cruise, seeing the kids LOVE it, made it even more enjoyable. I would most likely NOT take a Disney cruise without children. I would pick another cruise line in this case. Dinner at night is very loud! While food and service are great, it is not relaxing. :-) We were not surprised.

If This Is How Disney's Going To Do It... by MrChocoholic

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Genius. A cruise line partnership with Walt Disney, a quick drive from The Mouse to the Caribbean. Brilliant. And...why not renovate a gorgeous old ocean liner, fix her up for short cruises in the hot and humid tropics? That's what Premier did with The Big Red Boat concept and it worked. It worked so well that Disney got into the business full time and expanded into building its own fleet of amazing and innovative ships. Yet those of us who cruised on this Big Red Boat, the Oceanic, got a taste of what real ocean liners were all about before the age of the behemoths began. Lots of open deck space on this one, beautiful pool area, good although unspectacular food, courteous but not excessively familiar service, plenty for the kids to do and stay out of mom an dad's way.

It was the kids first cruise and they were so excited! I am glad I took them on a Disney cruise as they had a blast. As soon as we disembarked they already want me to book the next one but a longer one!

Our back to back cruise was the absolute best cruise I’ve ever been on. 3 cabins and 12 amazing ladies we all met on a previous sailing and became such good friends we booked a trip together without children and husbands. It will be a trip I remember for a lifetime. ❤️
