Review summary

I am a solo traveler and first time on Princess Cruise. I am very pleased and satisfied with Discovery Princess ship. To all the amazing crew members of the ship thank you very much for providing a World Class Customer Service! I was treated like a Princess. I will definitely cruise again with Princess and I highly recommend Princess to my friends and family and for all solo travelers out there.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Had an issue with negative Covid test. The email I received was any USA or UK citizens fully vaccines are not required to have a negative Covid test. When I got to the embarkation, when it was my turn they asked for my Covid negative test. I showed to the supervisor on duty they said I need to get a negative Covid test due to Canada requires the negative test. I was disappointed because I follow all the requirements needed to avoid any delays or hustle during embarkation. They have to send me to the testing and had to get a Covid test. I was on time and for my boarding because I wanted to have at least one hour to get situated to my stateroom before sailing that did t happen because of the poor information was given via email. I suggested that if any other country like Canada requires the negative test Covid that should have been noted to all passengers or guest via email. Other than that, the embarkation inside the ship was amazing, the crew are very friendly and treated with enthusiasm.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Fantastic! Worked class customer service! My Stateroom Stewart was Edward, he cleaned my stateroom twice a day and he did a fantastic job. The Ketchikan Dining was amazing and pretty consistent. I’m a solo traveler and it was my first time to cruise with Princess. Noel was my server, is very attentive he pay attention to details and very friendly. He ensure satisfaction of the guest. Eugene was my beverage, he knows exactly what I want on second night I was dining in Ketchikan. I fell in love with the customer service in Ketchikan Dining. I sit at the same place and time except for one day when I was late for my excursion in Juneau. Everyone in Ketchikan dining are friendly and happy to serve the guest with smile. The buffet is amazing, a lot of food and the servers are proactive ensuring that are guest are well taking care of. I am very pleased with the food and beverage team members.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
All the activities and Amenities are amazing and cater every guest needs and wants to my opinion. I made so many friends onboard and all the feedback from other guest are pretty satisfied with Princess onboard activities.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Amazing! I went to the Rock Opera and I love it! It touched my heart because of the meaning of the show. I went for this trip to in search for my healing and self reflection. The Rock Opera touched my heart with the last song about “This is Me”.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
My stateroom Stewart was Edward. He’s very respectful and work very hard. He cleaned my room twice a day and on day one he greeted me with enthusiasm he explained and educated me what I need to do on day on the ship. My Server was Noel and Eugene, I am very pleased and happy with the customer service dining in Ketchikan. Noel was very attentive, friendly, respectful and fast server with consistency. He made me feel like a Princess every time he will bring my meal to the table. I never felt alone dining as Noel and Eugene made me feel like family. Eugene, knows what I want on second night of dining and he’s pretty consistent. Other ship personnel are amazing, from Photographers Dino, Leo and the other photographers and retail attendant Steve. They made me feel so welcome and treated with respect. Also the crew on pool deck. One night I was walking and stumbled upon with the sea walk while the group of crew cleaning and one of the crew name Vladimir did above and beyond by helping me to overcome my fears to walk on sea walk.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I love the layout and design, I find it very classy. The cleanliness is pretty consistent and well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
I love my cabin, to me it’s the perfect size for solo traveler like me who is always on the go. My cabin was cleaned twice a day and we’ll-maintain by my on duty Stewart name Edward.

Ship tip

To be prepared to feel sad on last day on the ship. That was my experience on my last day, I was a bit sad leaving my stateroom room has it become my comfort place for the last 7nights on the ship. Saying goodbye to all the crew that made my vacation personal that they touched my heart.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
I love Ketchikan, I had amazing in downtown Ketchikan. The best shopping store for souvenirs. Especially that most of the store in Ketchikan souvenirs are made in Alaska. Pretty reasonable price and I had a great time on the creek street and learned about the history of the creek street.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
It was a bit disappointed that endicott was canceled due to weather with zero visibility. However, I still give it 5star because the captain did the best to get ship closer to the glacier and it was amazing experience, it reminded me of the movie titanic with all the iceberg floating on the water.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
I wish we have more time in Juneau, I didn’t get a chance to see downtown due to the excursion.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
I love the rain forest and free ride transport in icy.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
I wish we have more time in Victoria to explore more the city and history/

Disembarkation

Fast and easy disembarkation. I was treated exactly the same by onboard crew from day one till last dat of the cruise.
