fun cruise with a few problems. by eyetravel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

We are from MN and stay out in CA for several months each winter. While there we decided to book this Princess cruise. When I checked with purser about getting the disabled veterans shipboard credit, they told us we have to produce my husband's form DD214. Since we we could not get it because it was back in MN and booked the cruise when we were in CA, they refused to give any credit. We sailed many Princess Cruises and used the Veterans' credit on a previous cruise and had faxed the form at that time, we thought they should have had that form in their records. They said no. A fine way to treat your 100% disabled Viet Nam veterans.

Cruising with my sister by ldeiss47

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

I have cruised a number of times before but this was my sister's first time. Her comment was that for her it was  Cinderella story. She took pictures of everything! We wished the photo gallery photos were more reasonably priced and were disappointed at the prices of the prices in the Cabo's Dolfin excursion. We thought that perhaps one photo could have been included in the $149 excursion price. I purchased the Good Feet insert and have developed a sensitivity to the insert. I paid $199 for them and was wondering if there was a way to return them. Other than that, the food was great, service good and we had a great time!

Relaxing Cruise by meixlman1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

This was a great getaway for my wife and I.  There was always somewhere you could go and relax or be around people, music, and activities.  There are several pools on the ship and several levels for sunning.  There is even an adults only area for quiet time relaxation/sun - but it costs $14/day/person.  All in all it was a very great cruise.

Beautiful Ship and great cruise by charleswthompso

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

This was one of the best Princess Cruises we have ever been on. The food was really great, the staff very friendly, and the ports were great to revisit. I don't think they realized this was our fifth cruise but no big deal. Looking forward to using Princess again. Charles Thompson and Robert Fouyer.

Nice week long break by sj0620

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

Nice cruise experience but food was better on previous Princess Cruise. The stateroom beds were very uncomfortable and left a lot to be desired. Otherwise the staterooms were clean and nice. Food in Buffet was good but the dining room food was better on previous cruise.

Awesome ship, awesome crew, awesome itinerary.  We had a great time!  The food was excellent all over the ship and the service was the best that we have had in the evening dining room at Michelangelo.  Very, very nice!!

Mexican riviera by pennyanddoug

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Always nice to get away on a cruise. My rewards info with Princess had not been recognized even though I specifically asked whether it would be. The ship had plumbing issues which at times became uncomfortable.  The anytime dining process needs review.

Glad we went by BrnEyedGrl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

We wanted to try this side of Mexico for a long time.  Glad we did. However we were quite disappointed to only get a short half day in Cabo San Lucas. That's the port we most wanted to see. Also the snorkeling experience in Puerto Vallarta was a huge disappointment. On the up side the people were very friendly and warm. The ports were clean and well kept.

Beds were great but buffet food was average by carolegene

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

Overall a good cruise. I paid Metro-PCS (T-Mobile) $20 so both cell phones worked in Mexico; well worth the $20.  If you are new to the Crown Princess then EXPLORE IT!  Get a feel for where your cabin is located relative to where the main gathering places are.  The Movies Under the Stars on deck 15 is a jumbo-tron that you can see in bright daylight. They had four current films in the Princess Theater during our cruise.

THE BEDS WERE THE BEST OF ANY CRUISE SHIP SO FAR and I heard they are upgrading the beds in 2016!

Nice for the week by lovethatmall

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

the cruise was nice, but I don't know if I would take this line again. I feel like it was for an older crowd with less activities for younger people. The food was not that great and the room service menu was very limited. When getting our food, it was not everything we ordered.

Why does it cost extra to have great meals. by jmoor17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

The cruise was excellent with one exception, The room was great and the steward was efficent in keeping it clean, the ship was clean, everyone was friendly. I liked the hot dog and hamburger option as well as the Pizza and Ice Cream. But, I have now been on 8 cruises with 7 different cruise lines. We were not satisfied with the Buffet line. It looks good but the taste was not there. I think it is wrong to have to pay extra to get a great tasty meal. I can see having some speciality restaurants, but believe the buffet can be tasty and have a greater variety of options. Have more varity and have some taste. I can see that feeding masses you must be somewhat restrictive on adding spices and taste. But why must we pay extra for a tasty meal? The buffet always seemed like we were at the generic choice, even the potatoes had no taste. We had the money to buy good food, but did not as it was a matter of principle. We should get good food with the cruise without having to pony up more money.

Wonderful Except! by willnoreen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

Our first expression was not good. The stateroom was filthy, they cleaned it, and we found more issues with cleanliness. So, they did a spring cleaning. My comment, that should have been done at the beginning!

From that point on the cruise was wonderful! The speciality dinning was superb. The evening dinning was wonderful. The ship is great, the shops.are nice. Movies under the stars is great. Even the buffet, was much improved. Overall, it was great.

Respectfully

Will Hames

No additional comments - had a great time by settlerl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Had a very good time with our friends. Food was better than usual but the entertainment was lacking in originality and very repetitive. The pillows and comforter in the room were amazing!!!!! I would love to be able to purchase them for myself.

Good trip by miriamprr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

Had a good time at the art auction. I never bought art before. I cant wait to hang them up. Thanks to Shawn for teaching us so much about art. Spa was awesome as well. Pool lounges were a little hard to get at peek times. There were to many people who leave towels on lounges. Then there never in them. Found them to be very rude.

Friendly staff by kcree61655

The staff was super friendly with the exception of the service desk. There weren't as many children as some cruises. There were infants on the ship :(   Crying babies are not relaxing.

7 Night Mexican Riviera by Willyw798

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

it was a wonderful trip since this is the first time with Princess cruise line.  Food and service were excellent.  Only one thing I didn't care for is too much on ship sale of merchandises take place.

Disappointed by dsrippley889

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Mexico

Sailed with Princess six times before and this one by far was a disappointment. (1)Dinner menu had limited choices every night. (2) small touches like cold wash cloth upon returning to ship after going on shore not there. (3) no blue "Princess" shopping bag handed out to put your purchases/towels in. (4) no electricity in cabin - took 6 hours and 3 calls to be repaired. (5) On two Princess excursions brought back to "special" jewelry store (for bathroom and cold drink).  Followed and hassled by owners to purchase something.  This trip just wasn't what I have experienced before with Princess and their first-class operation.

Traveling is always an adventure! Norovirus  is just one of those things you hope you never get!  Still a relaxing cruise and would  go again - minus a few things!
