Review summary

We are from MN and stay out in CA for several months each winter. While there we decided to book this Princess cruise. When I checked with purser about getting the disabled veterans shipboard credit, they told us we have to produce my husband's form DD214. Since we we could not get it because it was back in MN and booked the cruise when we were in CA, they refused to give any credit. We sailed many Princess Cruises and used the Veterans' credit on a previous cruise and had faxed the form at that time, we thought they should have had that form in their records. They said no. A fine way to treat your 100% disabled Viet Nam veterans.

You could contact your credit card and have them withhold payment until you get someone (supervisor) to handle this correctly. I appreciate your husbands service to me and my country.

i would pursue this further.....maybeyou could fax it when you get home and they would credit your card....especially since youve sailed on princess before......or even maybe a future cruise credit.....dont give up.....our freedom is provided by the military and thank you for that....

I am sorry that you couldn't get your vet credit. My husband is a Viet Nam vet.. please thank him for his service! I hope in spite of that you enjoy your cruise. Our turn is next week.

My husband's veterans onboard credit has been automatically credited since the first time he used it on Princess. You should call and talk to someone else. FYI, your husband should keep a xerox copy of it in his wallet, all the time. Numerous retail stores give veterans discounts every day. (Lowes, for example.)
