Review summary

Not a good itinerary in my opinion. Not enough variety on the ship for as much time as you're on it.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The terminal area was chaos until you actually got to the first medallion checkin

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining was nice. Food was good. Lobster was not cooked well (rubbery). Buffet was okay, but fairly bland.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Enjoyed the trivia but not really much else to do and you can only handle so much trivia. The weather was not good unfortunately, so the pools were useless (not their fault). It was quite cold the whole trip. Did not use the fitness center.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows were okay. DJ Slava in the Skywalker lounge is fun, but the tracks are repetitious. The performers were okay, but not overly exciting.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was really responsive and worked very hard. Very kind overall and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
yes, the crew was taking care of things as the cruise went. polishing, sanding, etc. Always trying to stay ahead of the salt water. Interior carpets and such maintained, etc..

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Lino was our cabin steward and did a fantastic job. Very kind and attentive.

Ship tip

Make sure to understand how long you will be visiting a port. I think some of the port stops are too short.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington Did not visit port

Seattle was the beginning and end. Not considered a port call in my opinion

Juneau, Alaska

3 out of 5
Was 5 hours in port. Evening time frame. Not much to do except shop or eat.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
Port call time was 10 hours ( a little short as we were late). Some excursions. The White Summit train excursion was okay. Nothing overly exciting, but pretty. I believe most other excursions were canceled on people.

Cruise Glacier Bay

4 out of 5
Pretty scenery of course. Was cloudy, cold and foggy but could see the glaciers. Hard to grasp the size of them as you're several hundred yards away still. okay experience.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

2 out of 5
4 hours in port. This just seemed like something brand new built to provide a port to do some zipline runs, sell some beer, eat a donut and spend the last of your cash before the big sale home. Was not happy about this stop. Just a gimmick.

Victoria, British Columbia

2 out of 5
Another 4 hours in port. Came in the evening time. Shops closed, no excursions time really or offered I think. Spent money for a round trip bus ride to town to walk around closed shops and go to restaurants if you wanted. No point to this stop either in my opinion.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The crew has this very smooth in my opinion. People were moved off in a very efficient manner.

Thanks for the review. This ship has engine issues currently and cannot travel at normal speed in should’ve been pulled from service for repairs. The cruises from Seattle always have less port times than a one-way itinerary between Vancouver and Alaska. It’s always important to check the port times when booking a cruise.
