Review summary

Thought 3 weeks might be too many, but with the itinerary we had it went fast. If I did it again it would be in the spring or fall to avoid the heat and humidity. We had our 40th, birthdays, and retirement to celebrate in Aug. Overall pleased with ship and excursions.

Crown Grill great. Sabatinis pretty good. Horizon court buffet just OK. Drinks available everywhere, but a little spendy. Didn't let that stop us. Vacations are not to sweat the small stuff.

They really tried. Food was Ok knowing how many people they were feeding. Staff friendly and courteous.

Crown Grill

Excellant food. Be ready to spend at least two hours for your meal. Ate there four times. One took 90 minutes to get our main course and we only ordered one starter. Excellant staff also. Could use a little more help. Servers were really stretched.

Onboard Activities

Lido deck pool for adults good. Kids had great time in other pools.

Very professional dealers. Vegas caliber on the tables I played on. Good bar service too. Friendly atmosphere.

Comedy good. Music performers good. Staff games etc., you needed to have your drink on. They did really try.

From our room steward to the service staff around the pools all were really great. A really hard working bunch.

Overall good. Always clean. Ships age is showing a little, but who's isn't.

Cabin / Stateroom

Good size for two. Steward did a great job. Beds are amazing and new TV'S. Shower small, but was expected.

Ship tip

Choose your room. We didn't hoping for an upgrade, but still got our catagory. Rooms in our area had an optional bed pulldown from the ceiling. Thus, kids usually with parents in this area. A little noisy once in a while.

Way too many people to enjoy much. Did get our bucket list filled with visiting the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, and a wonderful lunch.

Agree with your review. We did 3 weeks on Crown last year from Southampton ending with a TA and the time went by quickly. Just the right amount of partying, sightseeing and time to relax. Elite on Princess but first time on Crown and really enjoyed it. Retirement and anniversary for us too.
