Be aware that if you are from the US, you cannot download the Costa app and it leaves you at a disadvantage when it comes to the schedule. The staff kept telling us to check the Costa app, when we asked for info. NO HELP! We were told over and over to download the app, but US citizens cannot. Staff kept telling us how to download despite the fact that we told them we had tried and it was not available to us.

If you are an American booking this cruise be aware you can’t download their app where you are supposed to get all the information about the cruise even the menus for every restaurant. They only have a burger place open at night and is not included in the package so you have to pay for it. Be aware as well you have to link a credit card a couple of days after embarking otherwise they will lock your costa card. We were not the only ones complaining. While online at reception I heard lots of complaints about the service in the restaurants. Long lines in the buffet areas and cafes and they are not open 24 hrs. Also the ac in the boat in general was not that great. And you only get serve half a glass of water or juices and no ice available. If you want something cold you have to go to the bar to get ice. Costa recycles their own water so bottle water should be free but we were assigned 7 bottles per adult for the whole duration of the cruise. My suggestion? Save the headache a book a cruise with Royal Caribbean or NCL.

They do not cater to English speaking customers. If this does not bother you, fine. However, if I had a choice, I would not go again on Costa because I felt very isolated. Almost no English speaking passengers and the staff, excursions, etc do speak English, don't expect them to speak well. Communication may be a problem

dont buy internet from the boat, such a rip-off as it is not stable at all and works very slowly, they are charging 100 euros for internet when is not reliable at all. I would advise if you need internet to wait until you are stopped in the destinations. Also Costa Toscana has an internal chat that you can use to communicate with the rest of the guest from the boat

Enjoy the wonderful cities of Italy. Napoli and Genoa had so many hidden gems. No they are not gleaming like a resort. They are cities full of character and amazing foods to try.

One thing that was very different for us. Is that people get on and off at every port. I don’t mean for an excursion I mean to join this cruise. So we were constantly seeing different people aboard the ship.

Don't buy a ticket for the Hop on-Hop off bus in Dubai for the day the ship returns. There just is not enough time to do the tour, boat trip and night tour
