Review summary

As a first-time cruiser, I don't have any previous experiences to compare it to, but I must say that the ship was wonderful. It was new, clean, and impressively large, accommodating up to 8000 people with the crew. The food was delicious, and the shows were excellent. However, I must note that the ship doesn't cater to English-speaking guests, so communication can be a bit of a problem. It felt a bit isolating since most of the passengers didn't speak English, but luckily, I know some Spanish which helped. The crew and excursion staff speak English, but not fluently, so it's essential to be patient.

Small, but perfectly serviceable. Bed was very comfy. Shower was adequate.

Ship tip

They do not cater to English speaking customers. If this does not bother you, fine. However, if I had a choice, I would not go again on Costa because I felt very isolated. Almost no English speaking passengers and the staff, excursions, etc do speak English, don't expect them to speak well. Communication may be a problem

Did not visit port, but went right to Capri which was wonderful. Best spot on my vacation. Don't miss it.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Port stinks, but it is the closest yo will get to Rome. Keep in mind Rome is 2 hours away by public transport. Its questionable wheteher it is worth it to travle that much to have like 3 hours in Rome.

Genoa, Italy

I enjoyed Genoa far mpre than I thought. Walking the streets is like walking through a Museaum

Appreciate your detailed feedback. Glad you were able to get by with your Spanish. Good to know about the language barrier. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
