If you only speak English you will not understand alot of things that's going on in the ship because all was only in Italian. Also, we cruise every year for the last 10 years and there was nothing that was free. They will nickel and dime you for everything. I'm so use to having some free ice cream, pizza or hamburgers but there was nothing free. When you get off the ship it was really hard to communicate with people. Don't get me wrong the ship was nice, but I felt kind of alone on the ship because there was not alot of English speaking people. You couldn't watch comedy shows, activities because it was all in Italian. I will next time make sure if I cruise in that area that it's primary language for the cruise and activites is in English. I won't cruise again on Costa. I will find a cruise like that speaks English so we can understand what's going on.

My tip is to leave the ship and explore around because the food sucks and there’s no entertainment.

It actually is not very American friendly… was impossible to join discount club, despite many times to go for in person help. The help was never there when I was told hours, and two times people took my room number, but never heard from club staff. Also, Americans with iPhone cannot have the Costa App. My excursions were cancelled as not enough English speaking, but when moved to another excursion, I never knew what time, bus number etc. when I asked staff, they said “you should know!.” I didn’t have app, new excursion not in original booking website, etc. Spa is like talking to a car salesman. Pushing very expensive products and upgrades in treatments all the time!

Be careful booking short excursions, and don’t book before if you’re not entirely sure on what they include or if the transfers included the money you lose on it is not refundable and the money you save is about as much as you would lose anyway so it’s best to just wait until you’re on board to book short excursions with this one because they will not refund you for any reason we missed a total of three short excursions because of a miscommunication or because not having a transfer to the shore excursion, etc.

Mature cruisers should be warned of the young families of fellow cruisers so they can decide if this cruise is appropriate for them. To us, this is one of the least enjoyable cruises we took the last 25 years. Luckiky, our cabin and the five ports of call made up for all other dissatisfied factors mentioned above..

Costa is very cheap. Nothing is free. Not water or coffee. They charge for everything. And they make ut very hard to get your food and coffee in the morning. At curtain times, 10-12:30 there us nit food available only if you pay for it. I.
