Not Good Experience

Sail Date: September 07, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The Costa web page lacks of enough information. We did not know anything about our dinner and if water was included or not. We got that information the first day we got to the ship because we went to the front desk and ask. Our room was old and dirty, some lights did not work, dusty, I had to fix the shower head because it would not  stay up, there was not an iron in the room we had to rent it!!! At dinner time we had to share our table with two other people!! We took the cruise as our honeymoon!! And we had to share table???? Even on breakfast you could not sit alone! And on the buffet people would just share the table because there was not enough space! The food is not that good (except on dinner) the buffet is until 4pm and there is a "Merienda" time that is just one hour!!! So people is mean doing the lines because is not enough time to do the line and eat in one hour! And if you are hungry between lunch and dinner there was just a pizza and salad place that closes at 6pm. So between 6 and 9 (second dinner time) there is nothing you can eat. The shows in the theater were mediocre except a few that were hire by Costa. I do not recommend this cruise and this Company.

Cabin / Stateroom
The housekeeper was really nice and helpful but the room was really old. Some lights did not work and the bathroom was really destroyed. The shower head did not stay up and the since would get stuck and not drain and the light took 30 seconds to turn it on every time.

Kiel, Germany
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Dover (London), England
The train to London was two hours and we paid 70 pounds for two tickets round trip and also included the trains in London, there is another one that is one hour but is a little more expensive and it doesn't include the trains in London. I recommend the one hour one because with the two hours one you get only four hours to see London. Impossible!
Cherbourg, France
Everything closes at 12 and reopens at 2 except the restaurants. The do not care about money they just care about sleeping their nap (siesta) we could get souvenirs cause everything was closed.
Vigo, Spain
Santiago de Compostela (one hour away in train) is beautiful. The tours are expensive, just ask where is the train station and the tickets are like 9 euros per person round trip, and Santiago is easy to walk it.
Lisbon, Portugal
Just pay for the Hop on Hop of!
Cadiz (Seville), Spain
Hop on Hop of or just walk it.
Malaga, Spain
Walk it!
Savona (Genoa), Italy

Ask how much is the tip per day because they do not tell you and is different in every destination, research first about what to do in the ports because the excursion are expensive and you can usually just take a hop on hop of by yourself and do the same for a cheaper price!
