Review summary

This cruise was a surprise Christmas gift to my 2 boys who always wanted to go to Alaska. They loved fishing but we weren't able to get them out there due to bad weather at Seward. We did see 1 group at the pier who caught a 70lb Halibut. I have never seen that big of fish in person and it was a great experience. Together as a family, I can't ask for more than what we experienced at Alaska X Summit. We all gained a few extra pounds due to all the great food and drinks available 24/7. We will definitely will add another X cruise trip on our next family vacation for sure. It was great making memories with my family at this cruise. Thank you X Summit family.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Everything was very smooth during embarkation at Vancouver, BC cruise port. Get there early is the key for embarkation. We arrived around 11:30 am although our time was scheduled at 1pm.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had the "classic drink package" and it was more then enough to accommodate our needs. All in all, great service and quality and selections.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The daily schedule is always full with things to do. If you missed one, some of events will repeat during the same day or next day. This was great for our kids to get involved and keep them busy while we're relaxing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
This was one of our highlights for sure. Entire family went to few scheduled evening performances and we had a great time as a family event. We had a great time during the comedian show. Great memories seeing my boys laughing and having a great time together.

WOW, just WOW. They have the best customer services....just blown me away. Everyone was SOOOO friendly/happy and they do really enjoy their job when I talked to few of them. That's makes a big difference to delivery that great experience for the customers on this cruise fore sure. Great Job to all staffs!!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
You can't tell this ship was built in 2002. Looks brand new to me. The staffs keeps it clean 24/7 and they even add some refresh blue paint while docking. They do keep that ship looking good in and out!!.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I tell you what, when my son and I walked in, our jaws just dropped because it was very spacious. It was so clean all the time and it's a 5 star hotel setup for sure. Great work for the staff assigned to our room and took care of us for 7 days.

Ship tip

Celebrity Summit is it. Don't book else where!! We talked to few other folks took other cruises to Alaska and they said X Summit is the best one. From food quality to number of guests and staff ratio, can't beat it. They really keep that place like a 5 star hotel. From food to entertainment, we were just speechless.

We walked the entire town and saw some salmon and seals at the Creek Street area. Weather was perfect and we really enjoyed our time there.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
We didn't do any excursions but we enjoyed our time at Sitka and talked to few local folks while we were checking out the town. All in all, great experience.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We really loved spending time at Juneau. We took a local bus and walked about 2 miles from bus stop to Mendenhall Glacier. That wasn't bad walk. Rained a little on our way back but we had umbrella.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
This was an interesting place. We walked to the town about 2 miles. Rained a lot more than other locations. We really enjoyed this location.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

5 out of 5
Hubbard Glacier was awesome. It was cold but worth the wait and watching the Glacier fall into the lake/bay. We took few great videos of that happening in front of us.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

5 out of 5
This was our last stop and we actually spent 2 more days on our own. Small town, a lot to do. Weather wasn't so good on our first day. We made the most of what was could have done. Next time I need to rent a car to get around and check out more of that town for sure.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth as it can be. The best experience.
