Our 35th cruise (not all are posted on Shipmate), first on Celebrity. Very nice ship, good accommodations. This ship doesn't have all the amusement rides like some of the mega ships but that's what we liked about it. Would consider sailing on Celebrity in the future depending on itinerary.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very nice terminal. We had all info downloaded before arrival. Quick check in. Short wait before we could board
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining room food was good. Some meals a bit better than others but always an item to suit your tastes. Did not try a specialty restaurant. Buffet food was okay. Nicely laid out in an attempt to minimize the bottlenecks that always happen in the buffet. Scoops, the ice cream kiosk was very good. Only saw an attendant at the Gelato stand (not located in buffet) once the entire cruise.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
A lot of trivia games. Entertainment staff, Luca & Kelly were very good as well Manuel the Cruise Director.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Not much to our taste in the theatre for entertainment. We did enjoy J, one of the musicians who sang & played guitar in various venues
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Guest Services staff were not well informed & therefore not very helpful with questions regarding immigration procedure, location of things on the ship, or disembarkation. Wait & bar staff were excellent as was cabin attendant
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Layout was easy to navigate. All areas were clean & well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Good size for 2 people. A LOT of storage, more than any of the other ship cabins we've had. Nursi our cabin attendant kept things very clean & cared for. Good location for solarium & pool deck, a bit of a walk to the dining room & buffet but that was okay for us.
Ship tip
Sky Deck, deck 11 at the bow of the ship is a great place to relax & watch the scenery
The port was very nice. However, we did not port until 2 pm & by the time the ship got through the immigration process it was after 4 pm & most places closed at 5 pm. We did go out & explore the next morning, but had to be on board at 1230. I feel that getting to this port first thing in the day & having all day to explore, or the ability to stay later on day 2 would have enhanced the experience. I'd definitely like to go back.
Nice tender ride into port. Very clean city. Lots of shops & restaurants to explore if you didn't want to go on an excursion. Awesome lobster roll at Luke's Lobsters, a short walk from the dock. We really enjoyed our day in Newport
Not clear where to go to wait to disembark. Very few staff visible. When things finally got moving it was an easy exit out through the terminal & only a few minute wait for an Uber
Sounds like you were on the same cruise that we were. I agree with the Charleston comment. The timing left us dissatisfied with our stay. There were also a lot of cases of norovirus on board. Staff did their best in cleaning etc.
