Review summary

Starting with the flight out, which was booked through with the cruise, everythig went smoothly.   There was nobody in line at security and we just walked up to the gate.  It was a JetBlue flight which I had never tried before.  There was only coach class,  but the seats were comfortable and everybody had free video.  The flight was scheduled to arrive at 2AM so we spent a short night in a hotel in San Juan before boardiing the ship.   That was great too.... no lines to wait through and we just walked onto the ship and into our cabin.  Our luggage was there within the hour.   The cabin was neat and clean if a bit small.   It had a new flat screen TV with a nice variety of channels.  It was on the vista deck, all the way forward and the balcony was shaded by some metal superstructure so it was shielded from glaring sunlight, wind and salt spray.  We left the door open each night to listen to the waves breaking by the bow.   We enjoyed the food a lot.  There was a huge variety in the buffet so we could always find something we liked.  The waitstaff in the dining room was very attentive and the food was a little nicer than most of the other cruises we've been on... This was my seventeenth.   We signed up for the specialty restaurant Normanie and what an experience that was!  Lobster and crepes prepared tableside and flambeed!   We did have a couple of shore excursions canceled due to problems with the dockside vendors, but the shore excursion desk found interesting and enjoyable substitutes   There was a Thassalotherapy pool covered with a glass atruim that was a lot of fun.  No kids were allowed there so it was quiet too.  They gave is chilled facetowels as we returned form each excursiion which was a welcome treat.  Leaving the ship was easy but kind of depressing after such a nice time
