Review summary

Affordable cruise with great veranda seating and good food and entertainment options. Both could use some improvement but I was still satisfied with both. Friendly staff for the most part other than the occasional stuck up spa member trying and flustered server on a busy day but overall good. A little renovation is a must in the coming year or two regarding the carpet, theater seating and patio furniture.

Embarkation

Easy to board and navigate through luggage, sign in, terminal etc….very simple with plenty of signs and staff to clear things up if there’s any confusion

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Ocean view Cafe (Buffet) was a very basic buffet with a large variety of options but many of the regular items (pastas, burgers, pizza, grilled chicken) was bland and at times, flavorless. Plenty of options though so when you realize the food you put on your plate was not prepared well, plenty of choices for featured items of the day(Mexican, Indian, Italian, Spanish, British) Grand Epernay (Main dining) had excellent service with great rotating menu. Zero complaints

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Gym had great views, fairly updated equipment you would expect to find in your local gym and was clean. No rock walls, pools and hot tubs were pretty basic but enjoyable, nothing too fancy

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The featured performances were good (singers, musicians) but the ship lacked real onboard activities. Many of the “activities” consisted of trivia in lounge areas, a 45 minute magic show on a single night, random things such as a paper airplane contest, adult coloring… The “silent disco” was surprisingly entertaining and the Deal or No deal game was also a good time The venues definitely need a renovation though…chairs in the theatres and even screens were very dated

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Clean room, bathroom was a good size for a ship and the balcony was also a good size for a basic veranda suite. The patio furniture was worn though, the table was splintering along with the chairs

Ship tip

Check out all dining options on first day to see which you prefer, don’t wait!
