On the whole, I would recommend this Cruise highly to anyone looking for an Alaska cruise vacation. The ship was just the right size for us and the service was excellent. I've been on quite a few post-pandemic cruises and they all seem lacking from their pre-pandemic state. I Will share that I heard veteran Celebrity cruisers say the same about this one.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
It was a bit chaotic for a newly designed terminal. About 30 minutes overall.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The buffet selection was huge and worthy of five stars. Food in the main dining room was good to very good with only a few "not so goods". The Tuscany specialty restaurant was a disappointment. Food and service were not on a premium level and we both felt we would have been better off going to the dining room that night.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Generally good. There's a bit more slow Time on these type of ships but the programs they offered were good.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The comedian, though limited to two nights, was great. The Amade and Rock productions were good. They Incorporated some muscly gymnasts into both shows which was interesting.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The staffing levels were excellent and all staff acted professional and courteous. Strangely, this was the first cruise we have taken where we only saw the room attendant on the first day. The others on the floor were always seen working like bees, so I don't know what was going on with ours. Room bed was always made up but the rest of room was not cleaned well.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was spotless. The design was good for us.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
All okay. As noted before, the bathroom has a trip hazard and the room only has a single outlet
Ship tip
Everybody Talks About that Alaska Weather, But Nobody Does Anything About It. The preceding Cruise was described as icy cold. Ours was overall mild and sometimes warm.
We did the blue bus and walked over to the falls and saw the glacier. It's an easy hike but we saw no flying or fur bearing critters in the park. This too is highly recommended. . Juneau itself was far too cutesy touristy shops for me. We were told we were very lucky not to have rain when we went.
Interesting town to walk. Saw my first fish ladder and a bunch of salmon trying to go upstream. Further down stream were seals looking for a snack. The lumberjack show was silly fun and recommended. Wear your raincoat and rubbers, it rained ALL day.
Another bucket list experience. Fantastic and all viewed from the ship. This was the only frigid cold part of our trip. Like we were floating in a big glass of ice tea.
Ray, I don't recall the MDR being open; but the app was definitely showing a few other choices. We just chose to do a light lunch from the buffet since we had the Italian restaurant that night
