Fantastic cruise, visiting many beautiful places, made all the better by the excellent service, as always from Celebrity.

Embarkation

Quick and efficient

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food excellent in main dining room and 3 specialty restaurants. You must try ‘Le Petit Chef’ for the ‘show’ alone

Le Petit Chef at Silk Harvest

5 out of 5

This is a must for the ‘show’ alone, very entertaining and not what we expected, won’t explain as it would spoil the fun

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pool area good, no problem finding a sun bed. Solarium excellent

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Plenty of music throughout the ship in different venues, only attended a few shows and these were very good

Ensemble Lounge

5 out of 5

Became our ‘local’ because of the friendliness of the bar staff and the excellent service. Good selection of drinks and if they didn’t have it they would find it for you. Good venue for music

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Best staff we have come across in all our time cruising, including other cruise lines, pleasant, respectful, attentive and nothing was ever a problem, always with a smile and a friendly greeting. Went out of their way to make a birthday celebration extra special, one I will never forget

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Like all Celebrity Solstice class ships, easy to find your way around. Cleanliness was a priority through the ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Bed was very comfortable, plenty room, can fit 2 large cases under the bed. Enough storage, both over the bed and in wardrobe, although in this room some space was taken up with the safe, where on other solstice class ships we’ve been on the safe was in a cupboard under the tv. The bathroom had enough storage for everything and the shower was quite powerful and has a glass door.

Ship tip

Enjoy because you’ll be well looked after and have a great time.

Ports of call

Auckland, New Zealand

5 out of 5
Small embarkation area, best to go at the suggested time on your paperwork and it’s very quick once you get there.

Bay Of Islands, New Zealand

5 out of 5
Most beautiful sunrise here, free shuttle bus to next town, very relaxed place and easy to walk around, a place to relax and do some water sports if you wish. We went parasailing at the pier, the guys were excellent and very friendly, we booked in advance but you can do while there.

Tauranga, New Zealand

5 out of 5
Easy to walk from the port to the town, lots of little shops and restaurants.

Akaroa, New Zealand

5 out of 5
Beautiful little town, we booked an excursion to Christchurch, quite a long drive through beautiful countryside

Port Chalmers (Dunedin), New Zealand

5 out of 5
Booked an independent excursion prior to sailing, which was a lot cheaper than the ships tour, plenty of tours from the port and the staff at the port were very helpful

Cruise Dusky Sound

5 out of 5
Beautiful sail through each of the Sounds, best to have your cameras ready and look out for the dolphins swimming alongside the ship

Cruise Doubtful Sound

5 out of 5
Best to have a warm jacket as it can get very cold

Cruise Milford Sound

5 out of 5
The sun came back out here, beautiful

Sydney, Australia

5 out of 5
Docked in the bay and got tenders to the port, dropped us at the side of the Opera House. On the second day the ship docked right in the port beside the harbour bridge We did the hoho bus around the city, was slow because of traffic and roadworks, but still saw what we wanted to. Went to the zoo near the port.

Melbourne, Australia

5 out of 5
Big queues for a taxi at the port but very well organised and wasn’t too long. Melbourne is a beautiful city lots to see and do, done 2 trips on the hoho bus, one around the city and another the next day to St Kilda’s beach. Very vibrant city, a visit to Victoria market is a must

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
You are given a time to disembark, we had to wait until 9.45am, our luggage wouldn’t be ready until then, but as we were staying in the City for a few days it didn’t matter we weren’t in a rush.
