Review summary

All in all was a beautiful cruise. Just the views of the land from the ship and off the ship was worth it. Pictures do not do the scenery justice at all. I felt so small against the majestic snow-capped mountains. The weather was beautiful at all times for our cruise. The ship was good overall. Entertainment great, food was okay to good. We may be the outliers but my husband and I are active and not huge eaters and alcohol drinkers, so being at sea for 4 days may not be the best option for us in the future. But again, we may be the exception, lots of people LOVE cruising and I would still recommend it! I miss it already!

Embarkation

Smooth process. We had Aqua Class so we were able to check in separately and quicker.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffet was good, not exceptional. Had many options and for me, vegan/vegetarian options. Husband said the quality of meat was not great, especially the steak/beef items. Dessert section was only okay, lots of cakes tasted the same and had a 'wet' quality to them. Aqua Class had its own Blu restaurant which was good. Again, not exceptional but lighter than the buffet more elegant than the buffet. I heard from several people that the specialty restaurant, Tuscan Grille, was not good.

Onboard Activities

Fitness center was very nice. Husband did a massage, but services were VERY expensive. Almost $300 for a 50 minute deep tissue massage (includes their added gratuity) is not reasonable.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All shows were nice. Comedians, musicians, magician, etc, were very enjoyable. Always had some sort of live music in different areas of the ship.

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff was friendly and attentive. However, we had an issue with the music noise being heard in our room every night from the night club, which we complained to guest relations every night. It took guest relations 4 nights to offer us to move rooms.

Cabin / Stateroom

Aqua Class balcony room was a nice size. Our glass door separating balconies was broken the when we arrived, they sent someone to fix. The bathroom fan was not working. But overall the rooms were nice. Beds were surprisingly comfortable.

Ship tip

If you like quiet at night or are a light sleeper, take earplugs. Neighbors are not so considerate with being loud and slamming doors, the wall of the rooms are very thin.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

First time visiting Seattle. If staying downtown, it is fairly short walks to the different tourist sites.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Was a cute little town. We had an excursion so only visited the shopping area closest to the ship after. Very tourist trap-ish with cheap souvenir shops and diamond jewelry stores. That's not my thing, so didn't enjoy the shopping area too much. Good food at the Alaskan Fish House.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

Beautiful!

Juneau, Alaska

Better than Ketchikan I think. We did an excursion and had dinner at the awesome Tracy's King Crab Shack. Again, lots of souvenir shops and jewelry stores. But a little more classy than Ketchikan.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
Very cute little town, but again lots of souvenir shops and jewelry stores. Probably more locally owned shops or artist so was better. But the architecture and backdrop of the town was very nice.

Victoria, British Columbia

More of a city and I loved it! Didn't do much due to short amount of time there. But the shopping areas were great, more like a true US downtown area with lots of 'regular' shopping retail stores, Chinatown, restaurants/bars, etc. Wish we could have spent more time there, I could have visited the Gardens.

Disembarkation

Kept our luggage with us and we could walk off the ship ourselves. Rather smooth and not too much waiting.
