Food quality decreased, got a room below kitchen (Deck 12 - Room 2138) that had constant noise, could not sleep. Cruise ship transportation is $ 27 or more per person, cab is $ 40.

Review summary

There were 3 of us in 2 concierge class staterooms. Celebrity bus to the dock was $ 27 X 3 = $ 81 each way (take a cab), you can’t move your stateroom so I’m going to take more time doing research, not going to be below the kitchen ever again (thanks Celebrity). Don’t wait for the staff to ask about pillows, 90% chance they are feathers (down), so if you have asthma you need to deal with this again on the 1st day.

Embarkation

The trick is getting onboard after the crowd, then you just walk right on.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Tried to set up my specialty restaurant ahead of time but Celebrity wouldn’t allow it, said “do it when you arrive,” then when I got there the room attendant couldn’t help and I couldn’t get through to the concierge, got late times on days I didn’t want. Specialty restaurant plan failed me, I couldn’t even use all of the paid for days. Refund? Not.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Presentations in the theater were excellent. Anything else you do is probably costing you money. Photography, shopping, gambling, drinks (I used to tip, but they are hitting me for 18% already), laundry (now $ 50 for a small bag), water (now $ 5 a bottle) and the list goes on and on.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
There was some great comedians, nature researchers and even some free TV movies and theater movies.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Celebrity staff is better than many of the other cruise line employees in my experience but they are not that responsive anymore. Gone are the towel animals and they advertised pillow choices on arrival, didn’t happen for me. My room service guy became a ghost then showed up on the last day for an additional tip.

Thank you for your review. It definitely will help others to remember the importance of research prior to cruising.
