Embarkation

From everything I read on demarcation, I figured we were in for an hour or more wait. But after being in the initial line (that took awhile to get through), we had our pictures taken and then allowed to board the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The buffet in the Ocean View Cafe change with every meal, and it changed to a different theme every day. What a delight! So many dishes to taste and try!

Our room steward, Rene, was the best! Helpful and always greeted me by name!

Cabin / Stateroom

There was plenty of room for my son and I to store our clothes and personal items. It didn't take long to remember that the bathroom door opened out; and that there was a step up into the bathroom. Also the bathroom was big enough to get dressed in. From all I had read, I was worried about it being small. Once again the Solstice did not disappoint us!

Ship tip

Celebrity Solstice spoils cruisers! All future cruises I will compare to the Solstice!!

Ports of call

Ketchikan, Alaska

Juneau, Alaska

Juneau has narrow streets and was very crowded the day we visited. There were FOUR cruise ships in dock at the same time. (I think this is normal for each Alaska port. The ships follow each other from one port to the next.) Add into this mix that it was raining. Which is also normal for Alaska summers. Juneau was the least enjoyable of all the ports for us. Next cruise we plan on going on an excursion in Juneau.

Skagway, Alaska

It was great to visit the museum and the train station. I enjoyed learning about the history of Skagway.
