Review summary

The itinerary if this cruise was the deciding point and the Celebruty's promotions made this cruise good value. All places were beautiful and our shore excursions booked with local companies were excellent. Ship's excursions were too pricey, too crowded and too short. With private tour companies we had great experiences. New Zealand is beautiful and worth the visit despite the long flight from NA.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Celebrity Solstice is a very nice ship and its crew - from captain's cheeky comments to wait staff and stateroom service - was first class. Food was very good and lots of choices. The reason for 4 stars was some sub- standard entertainment venues like Aussie comedian who was looking at his watch how much longer he has to feed us his degrading monologue. Some venues were very good like Aussie boys and Celebrity dancers and singers. The other reason was Celebrity's sales pushy atmosphere from photo to drinks to every little thing at extra cost. Onboard activities could be improved. I still like Celebrity but their "modern luxury" claim still needs more upgrade to claim that image to be true.
