Review summary

I could really get used to being pampered like this! ;)

We had a balcony state room with breathtaking views. The room was surprisingly spacious, bed was very comfortable, the bathroom bigger than I expected.

Don't feel intimidated by the size of the ship! Staff overall more than willing to help - even if they should not speak English as their first language. Make a slight effort, and you will meet the most amazing people! We had a full ship, and over sixty nationalities - a veritable United Nations on water!

Food was overall very fresh, and definitely plentiful! There are tons and tons of choices on the 14th floor buffet-style restaurant. Anywhere from American to Indian to Mexican, English, Italian cuisine to choose-your-own-cuisine.

This cruise  had all ages, from infant to senior citizens, single people to couples and families. Activities for teens between 12-17 y/o only, kids groups, exercise activities. Two pools - one indoors (adults only during the day), and one outdoor. Several well-frequented hot tubs. Tons of lounge chairs, towels, blankets.

We were first time cruisers, and a bit intimidated by the dress codes, but in looking back, we would not have had to be worried at all. The only time you need (?) formal attire would be for a dinner with the captain, and you can simply skip that..

One tip: make sure you do order a drink package (if possible before your cruise - you will save an 18% service charge) unless you just want to drink from the drink dispensers in the cafeteria-style restaurant on the 14th floor. There are different packages available - 'basic', which includes some wine (up to $7/glass), some beer, specialty coffees, teas, bottled water... 'Premium' is $10/day more, but if you want some hard liquor or specialty beers or specialty bottled water, it is worth it. There are also other packages available - Soda only, or water only, etc. Ask your travel agent, or check with the ship. If you have no drink package, life can get a bit pricey - especially if you travel with kids or if you are into drinking alcohol...

Some of the tours might be cheaper if you book them at the destination.

Oh: tipping our cabin attendant the very first day a small amount helped get timely and friendly room service - often w/o even having to ask for it!

Overall: WE LOVED OUR FIRST CRUISE and are looking forward to our next one!

Quite spacious, definitely has a European feel to it with the way the amenities are incorporated. Loved it.

Took the train tour to White Pass (we forgot to take our passport with us when we disembarked, so could only take the short (3 1/2 hr tour, which we bought at the train station). Loved it!

Victoria, British Columbia

Way too short, but awesome visit to Butchart Gardens.

Was a bit confusing at first. We were told to wait in different areas according to some numbering system (we all got new luggage tags a couple of days before). You could take your luggage with you (I would not recommend that), or you could put your luggage outside your stateroom the night before with those tags on, and then wait until your number was called and then pick up your luggage in a secured area outside the ship, organized into sections by tag numbers. Had a hurried breakfast because we did not know about the system. Could have taken our time and enjoyed it more, because, even if you should miss your tag number being called, you could just get out later and find your luggage area.

Classic drink package https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/onboard-packages/beverage-packages/premium-classic-and-standard Premium package https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/onboard-packages/beverage-packages/premium-classic-and-standard What is worth mentioning is with the premium package if you purchase a drink costing more than $13 you only pay the difference. On the classic package any drink over $8 has to be paid for in total so not just the difference. Therefore if you have one drink a day at the martini bar it costs you more than the upgrade

yes metal walls take magnetic hooks and clips great for hanging hats, lanyards and the daily info sheets.

Thank you very much!

No idea if the walls were metal. Somehow, I do not think so. They looked like a normal room you would find in a hotel (we had a balcony stateroom). Ample space for everything. A big closet - like in a hotel, too, a dresser unit with 5 drawers, a small fridge (little space in there, because of the mini-bar items, but I assume you could ask your cabin attendant to take all the items out, so you have space for your own things (not really needed, because of 24/7 food available...), some hooks on the wall, a couch with a small table, king sized bed, two small night stands. I had the standard drink package, which includes bottled water, teas, coffees (like capuccino, mocca, etc), wines, cheaper variety of hard liquors. My husband bought the premium package on board. So he got specialty beers, Evian water, upgraded Cognac (Remy Martin Prime Cellar Selection, Cellar #16 - like day and night to the regular one!). He also got a better Whisky (Glenlivet). No idea about the rums, though. But, again, lots and lots of choices, and lots and lots of locations on the ship. Maybe go from place to place and ask what they have, because each has different choices, and then make your decision to upgrade (or not) to the premium package.

We are taking this cruise september 8th, so excited! Which beverage package did you purchase? Do you know what the standard rum brand was and would that be included in the standard package? Thanks for your great review!

Magnets work perfectly for hanging all kinds of stuff in your cabin.

Thanks for the info! Were your cabin walls metal? I'm thinking magnets.
