Review summary

After 13 cruises on various cruise lines...4 being in Alaska, this cruise on the Solstice exceeds them all.

The beds were very comfortable (they provided memory foam toppers and pillows), the bathroom was much roomier and the shower has thoughtfully designed.....including a rod across the corner for ladies to rest foot on when shaving legs! the balcony had very comfortable chairs that allowed for several reclining positions. The buffet upstairs had an immense selection, my favorite was the cooked to order salmon at nights!  The ice cream bar was a hit with grandkids....no limit, no extra charge!

The atrium stretched from deck 3 up to the top of the ship (12 decks high!), with a suspended ficus tree that was enormous...it definitely was a "WOW" factor when first boarding the ship!  The embarkation was seamless...as was disembarkation. the staff were well trained in welcoming and caring for guests!   I'd love to sail again on that ship!

this cabin, to my delight, is NOT like the picture above. It had the sofa nearest the balcony...the beds are near the bathroom...a much better arrangement when you enjoy using the balcony. It also has capacity to sleep 4...sofabed and drop down bunk.

Ship tip

Go to the lounge on top of ship at the front to view the glacier fjords...terrific view and comfortable seats!

Klondike trip is worth the views, but needs creature comforts at top of mountain, food, restrooms, (the one on our train was awful),
