Review summary

We took a 7 day cruise to Alaska on celebrity Millennium. Ship was old and needs update. Shore excursions were very expensive for what they offered. ATV tour is a complete waste of time and money. Celebrity kept charging us for random charges, that required hours to resolve while on the ship. Restaurants were average. Even for Aqua class, nothing special. Their customer service is atrocious. Hours to pickup the phone. The one attraction of Hubbard glacier, ship stayed 5 miles away, and wanted people to buy $500 Hubbard excursion to make more money. Nightly shows were nice, but I am sure they are much more extravagant on nicer ships. Gym and sauna nothing to write about.

Delays and their system shutdown

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Restaurant food was below average and monotonous. Specialty restaurants are a rip off, considering we already paid extra for Aqua class.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
There are hardly any activities on this ship. One ping pong table and a basketball court. Fitness and Sauna are old and small. Pools are small for the number of people. Always crowded

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows were nice. Music was below average. No good singers. Acrobats did a good job.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
95% of the crowd was 55+. Feel sorry for younger crowd and kids.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Waiters and room cleaning was good. Customer service was terrible. Kept charging us for random things and then argue with them to remove it. Long lines.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Old, and beat up with paint peeling off. Should be retired or turned into a reef. You can see painted over surfaces, old design and amenities.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Size was small for Aqua class. Shower was tiny. TV never worked. Wifi sucked!

Ship tip

Stay away from this ship, don't buy any excursions, and find a better cruise line.

Sucks. Nothing to see as far as Alaska goes. Best views are from train that you take after cruise ends

Ketchikan, Alaska

Nothing to do here. Don't take any tours. Only place to see is where there are bears.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Completely useless. Stay away from ATV tour as this is a rip off. 2 miles on a gravel road, and they charge you $225. What a scam.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
This is the only real port. Rest are all made up. Whale watching is great here. But buy yourself. There is a tram, but it has 1 hour wait. However at the top of mountain, hike is great.

Skagway, Alaska

3 out of 5
Best thing here is the hike or $200 train. I would recommend the hike. Same views from train to anchorage.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

2 out of 5
Would be nice if ship went closer. Ours stopped 5 miles away and wanted us to pay $500 per person to go closer on a boat.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

3 out of 5
Seward is nice if you do Kayaking or take the train back to Anchorage. Not a lot to do here.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
As usual. Long wait and confusion to resolve fake charges

Thank you for sharing your cruising experience. You’re correct, excursions are expensive for Alaska but worth it to see such amazing sights.
