Review summary

Our first cruise with Celebrity. We have cruised on other cruiselines in our quest to find a "favorite". Another cruiseline was already shaping up to be that...now Celebrity is definitely in the running! We'll get another data point in October aboard Celebrity Summit. We'll also visit Alaska again! Overall, Celebrity Millenium and this itinerary DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Seamless and hassle-free

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We didn't use Main Dining or any specialty dining at all. We prefer buffet due to flexibility and informality. The buffet was, essentially THE SAME menu every day. There was, however, enough diversity in their setup to allow for something different every day.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did not participate but there seemed to be plenty for those who did...

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The first evening show in the theatre was HORRIBLE. The singers and dancers were good...the orchestra was awesome...the overall PRODUCTION sucked. It was like a bad high school production with professional performers. Happily, those same performers redeemed themselves in EVERY OTHER production! The acrobatic act (as seen on AGT) was simply breath-taking! Overall, after that first bomb, the shipboard entertainment was EXCELLENT!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Putra, "always excellent", our cabin steward went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. His positive attitude was infectious. Every staff member was courteous and cordial. SENIOR MANAGEMENT was always visible walking around and visiting with guests.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
EXCELLENT! 'Nough said...

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Slightly smaller than other cabins of the same category that we have stayed in. Well maintained, bright, and clean.

Ship tip

Do the "Behind the Scenes" onboard excursion and attend ALL of Celia's wildlife presentations. Oh, and bring binoculars!

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
Embarkation only. Beautiful city and easy Skytrain transportation to Canada Place Cruise Terminal.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

5 out of 5
Splendor and majesty! Saw maybe 100 whales!

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Quaint little town. Visit Creek Street for a bit of history.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
No Diamonds International here! The oddest cruise port we have ever seen! Remote and quaint. Enjoyed touring the old cannery and meeting someone who actually grew up in one of the THREE houses there! Maybe my favorite stop...

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Mendenhall Glacier was almost a spiritual experience...HIGHLY recommend "Mendenhall Glacier and Salmon Bake" excursion

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
The history of White Pass and the railroad was interesting as well as disturbing..."Soapy" Smith was a scoundrel..."White Pass Railroad and Skagway Highlights" was a great excursion.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

5 out of 5
DO NOT sleep in! Hubbard and Turner glaciers are just beyond any description! Next time we WILL do the "close-up" excursion.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

5 out of 5
We did a LONG, third-party (ACT) excursion to visit Seward and Anchorage due to our late flight. Our driver/guide was EXCELLENT! I called him "Rainman" because of his wealth of knowledge...

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easiest we have EVER EXPERIENCED after 10 cruises! Off the ship in less than an hour from docking. ZERO hassle and NO long lines! WOW!
