Review summary

We really enjoyed cruising with Celebrity. It was a good mix of ages, with limited children. The heated pool and hot tubs in the Solarium were amazing. Enjoyed the spa cafe for light healthier snacks. Gym was nice and massages were top notch.

Embarkation

Very organized and easy, we had a drink in our hands within an hour of starting.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We are not picky eaters but a lot of the food was just okay, every once in a while we had an exceptional meal. We only did the sushi one night and had to send one thing back because it tasted off.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed our massages, the hot tubs after a long day of walking were awesome. The 80’s music trivia was the standout of the activities!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were just okay, the volume was so loud it was painful some nights. We did enjoy the aerialists and the comedian. Celia Garland gave many talks on different wildlife we would be seeing on land and she was the highlight of the boat.

Service and Staff

Our room attendant, Malou, was the best part of our trip. She was always so nice and kept our room so clean and tidy. Overall, everyone was very nice and always said hello. Our only negative experience was with our dining room waiter who had such strong body odor that it nearly ruined our meals. I know this sounds terrible to say but I think hygiene should be important when serving food.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very easy to get around being on a mid size ship. We were with my older parents and they really appreciated the shorter walks.

Cabin / Stateroom

We loved our balcony cabin, the views all day long were amazing. 20 hrs of daylight makes you appreciate what you see outside. The storage spaces were beyond what we expected. Lots of hangers, but we still asked for more. The shampoo and conditioner were like a cheap hotel, next time I’ll bring my own.

Ship tip

Having an over the door shoe hanger for bathroom supplies really came in handy for all kinds of small things

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

We were only here for one night and boy has it changed. There was a lot of homeless people around and the smell of pot was everywhere.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

This was very peaceful and beautiful from our balcony view.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Tons of souvenir and jewelry shops. This was the cheapest of all ports so if you find something you like, don’t wait, buy it here. We did an ebike and hike tour independently and had a great time!

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

We only walked around and road the gondola up to the top for $50. Wouldn’t do it again. We heard people had great luck with whale watching out of here.

Juneau, Alaska

Very big busy port, we had a great whale watching experience (not as good as icy point stories we heard). We were cancelled on our helicopter/dog sledding due to weather. We also saw the upside down garden which was underwhelming. We also ate at the Red Dog Saloon which was entertaining.

Skagway, Alaska

Cute little town! The train ride was one of the best parts of our week. Such beautiful scenery while learning the history of the gold rush. Don’t miss the fried bread in town!

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

Yeah, you’re watching ice fall but it was still pretty incredible to see and hear it.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

This town is like no other town we visited. This is the one place where you could tell people live here year round. There’s health food stores, backpacking stores and a campground. We rescheduled our helicopter/dog sledding tour privately and had the best time! We also did a 6 hr whale watching trip that was very nice. Not a lot of whales but we saw seals, sea lions, sea otters and puffins. Had king crab legs in town.

Disembarkation

Easy peasy. They close all restaurants by 7:30am and you must be out of your cabin by 8am. We had to wait an hour before our 9am time slot.
