The major disappointment during our cruise was the metal ladder mounted outside our veranda which obstructed our Alaska views. Had we known about the obstruction, we would have chosen another stateroom. Another disappointment was insufficient seating on the outside deck beyond the Ocean Café. Otherwise, we were very pleased with the cruise overall, the destinations, and the excursions.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was delicious at all the dining venues on the ship including the dining room, Tuscan Grille, and Ocean Café buffet. The sommeliers were attentive, helpful, and efficient. One drawback was that the tables/counters in the Ocean Café were not cleaned between uses. Although dishes/glasses in the café were removed promptly, the fact that the table/counter surfaces were not wiped down at the same time or immediately after diners left those areas felt unclean and detracted from the overall dining experience in the café.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The onboard naturalist, Celia, was extremely knowledgeable and her love of nature was infectious. All her lectures were very informative and interesting, which definitely enhanced our experience in Alaska.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The stage shows aboard Celebrity are mediocre. The talent and costumes are very good but the productions are put together in a manner that detracts rather than enhances the talent (vocal and dance), which is unfortunate. The American Ballet Theater performance was excellent and a wonderful addition to the overall repertoire. The other performers in the theater were entertaining. But the real winners were the performers at the various lounges and cafes around the ship who were all outstanding.
Service and Staff

All the service staff did an outstanding job to make us feel well cared for and pampered.
Ship Quality

There was not enough seating in the outdoor dining area adjacent to the Ocean Café. We were fortunate to have good weather so many people enjoyed the outdoor dining area, but many more could not because the area is too small and did not provide enough tables and chairs. Overall, the common areas were clean and well-maintained with one exception: The tables/counters in the Ocean Café were not cleaned between uses. Although dishes/glasses in the café were removed promptly, the fact that the table/counter surfaces were not wiped down at the same time or immediately after diners left those areas felt unclean and detracted from the overall dining experience in the café.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The size, cleanliness, and overall comfort of our stateroom was good and adequate for our needs. However, we were very disappointed that there was a metal ladder outside next to our veranda which obstructed our view. This stateroom should be advertised as having an obstructed view but it was not. Had we known, we would have chosen other accommodations. We have cruised more than a dozen times on various cruise lines including several on Celebrity. We always choose a veranda stateroom to better enjoy the views during the cruises. This was the first time that our veranda view was obstructed, which was a major disappointment and really detracted from our cruise experience.
Ship tip
Make sure that your veranda stateroom does NOT have an obstructed view. We were very disappointed as a result of this deficiency which was not revealed to us at the time of our booking.
We toured the city before boarding the Celebrity Millennium. The tour ended at the cruise port so our luggage was picked up at our hotel and delivered to our cabin, an excellent service.
Overall, this was an interesting port with many interesting services. We did the Wilderness Hike excursion. Although our guide was attentive and informative, the hike itself was simply going up and down the same logging road, which did not offer much variety and was not worth the price charged.
This port was very interesting with lots of things to see and do. Enjoyed the Ben Fogle excursion which included a hike near the Mendenhall Glacier. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the walk was much more interesting and varied than the one at Icy Strait Point. The whale watch was amazing and a very memorable experience as we saw humpback whales and sea lions.
Skagway has great atmosphere and is a wonderful place to visit. We took the bus from Skagway to Frasier, BC, which provided beautiful views. Then we took the train back to Skagway, which was an unforgettable experience and well worth the time.
This is not a port. We were fortunate to have good weather and the naturalist's commentary really enhanced the viewing of the glacier. This experience was a highlight of the cruise--except for the obstructed views from our veranda caused by the metal ladder next to our veranda.
Seward is a charming little town which is the jumping off point for a myriad of boat excursions. We enjoyed walking around and the Sea Life Center seems like a real asset but our tour did not allow enough time to visit and enjoy the center adequately. Our cruise of Resurrection Bay was outstanding and part of our land package from Seward to Fairbanks.
This was the fastest, timely, and most efficient disembarkation we have ever experienced. Could not have been more pleased. Finding the tour bus for our land package was easy as well.
