Review summary

I didn't find a lot of information on this particular cruise, so I want to say that as a first time asian traveling experience it was really good. The excursions covered the highlights and gave a good view of the ports of call. Fall is definitely a good time to travel to avoid the high temps in the summer months.

Embarkation

Very easy and suitcases came to our cabin very quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining room was as expected. The buffet was very diverse and offered almost everything. The specialty restaurants Tuscan and Qsine were both outstanding! I would consider buying the specialty restaurant package in the future. We bought the beverage package so we were able to get bottled water etc. This still did not include drinks in the cafe which were extra. I think the beverage package should include all beverages except alcohol. And the alcohol beverage package should include all alcoholic drinks as well. Just easier to have everything included in a few packages. Too confusing.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
It was too cool to enjoy the pools, but fitness center was very good. Not many specialty activities like on the newer ships. Older crowd so maybe that's typical.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The musicians in the bars were pretty good. The stage shows were not outstanding, so we didn't find much interest.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The waiters were excellent. The room stewards were very helpful and always saying hello and offering assistance. The shore excursion folks were very nice and helpful. Guest services were rude and unhelpful, not once but every single time. The first concierge was not helpful but her replacement was great.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The Millennium is an older ship and it showed it's age. In January it is being completely updated and refurbished so that should help. The pictures showing these changes were very nice. The common areas were clean and well maintained. The layout is pretty good, lots of gathering places and places to relax outside of the cabin.

Cabin / Stateroom

We were on the concierge floor which we thought was an advantage, but we did not see any real pluses to this floor. The Aqua Class, Spa Class and Suites were probably much nicer. The rooms were small and in need of refurbishing. Closet and storage space were pretty good

Ship tip

Good ship for the older crowd. Definitely not kid friendly. The update and refurb should improve this ship conserably
